Mind Diver is a compact mystery adventure about investigating the disappearance of Sebastian by exploring the fractured memories of his girlfriend, Lina. Its appeal rests on listening closely, examining scenes, and reasoning through missing details—not on action or a sprawling case file. It is a strong fit if you want an atmospheric, relationship-focused story mystery; how satisfying it is as a puzzle game depends on how much challenge you expect from its deductions.
What kind of mystery is Mind Diver?
Developed by Danish studio Indoor Sunglasses and published by PLAYISM, Mind Diver frames its investigation as a journey through Lina’s deteriorating memories. Sebastian, her boyfriend, has disappeared, and each memory contains a missing detail that the player must identify to reveal more of the past. PLAYISM calls it “a murder mystery, where the victim is love,” a description that signals its emphasis on the relationship as much as on solving a case.

The result is a narrative adventure rather than an action game or a conventional police procedural. Its central question is not only what happened to Sebastian, but what the fragments of Lina’s memories reveal about the people involved.
How does the gameplay work?
The investigation relies on attention and inference. Players listen to conversations for clues, distinguish meaningful details from coincidences, inspect scenes, and supply the detail that belongs in a gap in memory. PLAYISM describes the intended deductions as logical but not obvious. Progress therefore depends on connecting what characters say with what the environment shows, rather than simply following a trail of marked objectives.

If the pleasure of a mystery game for you is careful observation and making connections, that loop is the main draw. If you want layered systems, a long sequence of difficult logic puzzles, or extensive procedural casework, the available descriptions and reviews do not establish that Mind Diver offers that depth. A few published reviews praise the story, character relationships, atmosphere, and listening-based investigation, while puzzle satisfaction is less uniform; that is not enough evidence to call its challenge universally easy or hard.
Is Mind Diver a good puzzle game?
It is best approached as a story mystery with clue-based deduction, not as a puzzle-first game whose main attraction is sustained mechanical difficulty. The publisher says solutions are logical but not obvious, and its gameplay description emphasizes interpreting details. That promises active reasoning, but does not by itself tell you how demanding each puzzle will feel.
Published responses support a more nuanced expectation than a simple yes or no: reviews have highlighted the atmosphere and narrative, while players looking primarily for deep, challenging puzzles may find the experience less compelling. The fairest decision is to ask whether solving memory gaps in service of an emotional story sounds appealing—not whether it will deliver the same kind of puzzle density as a dedicated logic game.

Story, voice acting, and visual style
The relationship at the center of the disappearance gives the investigation an intimate scale. Instead of treating clues as pieces of a detached crime scene, the game ties them to Lina’s memories and her connection with Sebastian. PLAYISM describes the story as tragic and says the dialogue is fully voiced in English.
The presentation also has a distinctive production basis: PLAYISM says the visuals use 3D scans of real actors and locations in Denmark. That approach gives the environments and characters a grounded, scanned appearance rather than the look of conventional hand-drawn or photorealistic game art. The English Steam listing includes full audio, interface, and subtitles; Steam’s listings for other supported languages indicate interface and subtitles but not full audio.
How long is it, and what does it cost?
The two official descriptions give different runtime estimates: PLAYISM’s game page says “about 6 hours of tightly paced gameplay,” while Steam describes “~4-5 hours of tightly paced gameplay.” These are estimates, not guarantees; a player’s pace and time spent solving the deductions will affect the actual duration.

PLAYISM listed the price at $17.99 at the time of the cited official information. Treat that as a publisher-listed price, not a promise of what you will pay: storefront pricing, regional currency, and sales can change the amount. For a short, story-led game, whether that price feels worthwhile will depend on how much you value its presentation and emotional mystery relative to its limited runtime.

What do reviews and player ratings indicate?
Steam’s user-review aggregate is a changing snapshot, not an independent critic score. At the time of the cited listing, it showed 95% positive from 321 all-time reviews and 100% positive from 12 reviews in the preceding 30 days. Those figures can change as players submit reviews, and the recent sample is small.
Among the published reviews cited here, PS4Blog.net’s September 14, 2026 review of the Switch 2 version scored it 7.5/10 and disclosed that PLAYISM provided the review copy. The Geekly Grind scored its Steam Deck review 8/10, but the available page text gives an October 22 date without a year, so that score is harder to place in time. Neither score settles whether the puzzle challenge will suit you; the game’s story, atmosphere, and listening-focused approach are more useful signals for that decision.
Who is Mind Diver for?
- A good match: You enjoy narrative adventures, relationship drama, atmospheric settings, and noticing details in dialogue and environments.
- Think carefully before buying: Your priority is a long campaign, demanding puzzle systems, or procedural investigation with extensive case-solving.
- Check before choosing an edition: You need a particular language’s full voice acting, want to confirm a platform feature, or are comparing regional prices.
For comparison, focus on the kind of deduction you want, not just the broad label “mystery.” Mind Diver puts close listening and emotional context ahead of action; its official runtime estimates make it a short experience; and its value depends on the current price in your region. PLAYISM includes an endorsement from Lucas Pope, creator of Return of the Obra Dinn, on the Steam page, but that excerpt is an endorsement, not an independent review of the final release or proof that the games play alike.
