Midori for Android 11.9.2.5 is a maintenance update announced by developer Astian on 29 September 2026. It lists fixes and improvements for saving pages as PDFs and downloading files, plus changes to the toolbar, GeckoView engine, animations, and background performance. Astian does not publish benchmark results or say that the update will resolve every user’s problem.
What changed in Midori Android 11.9.2.5?
Astian says users had reported problems saving sites as PDFs and downloading files. The release announcement lists six areas of work, but does not give technical detail about individual fixes or quantify their results.

| Area | Change listed by Astian | What it means for users |
|---|---|---|
| Toolbar | Improvements to the toolbar’s global position | Toolbar placement is one of the interface areas addressed. |
| PDF saving | Improvements to saving sites as PDFs | Relevant if page-to-PDF saving has been unreliable. |
| Downloads | Improvements to file downloads | Relevant to problems downloading files in the browser. |
| Browser engine | Update to GeckoView 157 | The release updates the engine Midori uses; Astian does not describe specific compatibility or security effects in this announcement. |
| Animations | Optimized animations | Astian lists animation work without providing a measured speed or smoothness result. |
| Background, tabs, and navigation | Background optimizations and performance improvements for tabs and navigation | These are the release’s broader performance-focused changes, with no published benchmark. |
The announcement describes work intended to address the reported issues; it is not a guarantee that every PDF or download problem is fixed on every device. PiunikaWeb described the browser as feeling “snappier,” but that is the reporter’s impression, not a controlled performance test.

How to get the update if Google Play does not show it
Astian says the download from its website is available immediately and that users can wait for Google Play availability. The developer does not give a specific Play Store rollout time or promise availability by country, device, or Android version.
- Check the Midori app’s listing in Google Play for an available update.
- If 11.9.2.5 is not available there, Astian says its website download is immediately available; alternatively, wait for the Play Store listing to receive the update.
Google Play lists the app as Web Browser Midori by Astian, Inc. The listing reviewed for this release showed an update date of 9 September 2026, before Astian’s 29 September announcement; that listing date does not establish when 11.9.2.5 will reach a particular user.

What the release does not establish
Astian’s announcement provides a changelog, not numerical stability or performance measurements. It also does not specify a minimum Android version, supported device list, or country-by-country rollout schedule. The update’s GeckoView change is stated as version 157; the notice does not make a separate claim that this release improves privacy or security.
Midori’s public Android project repository describes the app as free software and lists features including tabs, private browsing, extensions, history, downloads, bookmarks, dark theme, and sharing. Those are general product features, not changes introduced by 11.9.2.5.
