If it is preinstalled and cannot be uninstalled, you may be able to disable it; if you only want to clear its icon, hide it. These actions have different effects, and the options depend on your device and software version.
Which Microsoft apps might be on a Samsung phone?
Samsung says some Galaxy phones and tablets may include Microsoft apps such as Office, OneDrive, and Link to Windows. The exact apps vary by device, and their presence does not mean each one can be uninstalled. On some devices, Samsung says to look in the Microsoft folder on the Apps screen. Choose the right option

| Uninstall | Removes the app from the device. Samsung notes that deleting an app can free storage. | The app offers Uninstall and you want it removed. |
| Disable | Stops the app from running in everyday use and removes it from the Apps screen, but leaves it installed. You can enable it again. | The app cannot be uninstalled, but Disable is available. |
| Hide | Removes the app icon from the Home and Apps screens; the app remains on the device. | You only want a less cluttered screen. |

Try to uninstall the app
- Swipe up from the Home screen to open the Apps screen.
- Find the Microsoft app. If it is in a Microsoft folder, open that folder.
- Touch and hold the app icon. If Uninstall appears, tap it and confirm the prompt.
If the shortcut menu does not offer Uninstall, open Settings > Apps, select the app, and check the controls on its App info page. You can also use Samsung’s Galaxy app-management instructions if the screen layout differs.

Disable an app that cannot be uninstalled
- Open Settings > Apps.
- Select the Microsoft app and look for Disable. On some versions, Disable may also appear in the icon’s long-press menu.
- Tap Disable and confirm if prompted.
A disabled app remains installed, but Samsung says it will not run and will be removed from the Apps screen. To restore it, go to Settings > Apps, select the disabled app, and tap Enable.
Hide the icon without disabling or uninstalling
If the app works but you do not want to see its icon, open the Apps screen menu and choose Settings > Hide apps on Home and Apps screens. Select the app and tap Done. To show it again, return to the same setting and remove it from the hidden-app selection. Hiding changes where the icon appears; it does not remove the app.

Why the controls may differ
Samsung says the available actions and menu names can vary by Galaxy model, software version, or app version. Some preloaded apps are integrated with device features or needed for normal operation, so they may not offer either Uninstall or Disable. If the steps above do not match your phone, use Settings > Apps to inspect that app’s own controls rather than assuming every Microsoft app can be removed.
