Microsoft Learn says Business Premium includes everything in Business Standard plus Microsoft Defender for Business and Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 1. Microsoft also describes Intune Plan 1 for device and app management, Entra ID for identity and access, and Purview capabilities for data protection and compliance. These are tools and service capabilities, not a guarantee that a business is secure automatically: appropriate configuration, policies, and ongoing administration still matter. How is Business Premium different from Business Standard?
Both plans cover core productivity and collaboration needs, including apps, email, storage, and collaboration services. The distinguishing reason to consider Premium is its added security and device-management coverage. Microsoft specifically identifies Defender for Business and Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 as additions beyond Business Standard.

Does Business Premium include Teams?
Microsoft’s U.S. offer includes both Teams and no-Teams packaging. These are distinct plan variants, so do not assume the no-Teams version carries identical collaboration entitlements. Confirm which version is offered in your region and whether it includes the services your organization needs.
