MeridianLink says its Doc Agent for Mortgage is live with early access customers, with general availability expected in late Q4 2026. The October 8 announcement names Credit Union of Colorado as a customer, but does not identify three Doc Agent lenders or confirm a three-lender deployment.
What is MeridianLink Doc Agent?
Doc Agent for Mortgage is an AI assistant embedded in MeridianLink Mortgage, part of the company’s MeridianLink Intelligence offering. It is designed to help review loan documents, extract information, prepare clearer requests for borrowers, and assist with workflow steps. MeridianLink says lending professionals remain in control of consequential decisions. MeridianLink’s October 8, 2026 launch announcement describes the product as live with early access customers.

Why does the headline say three lenders?
The launch announcement does not say that three lenders are using Doc Agent. It names Credit Union of Colorado, whose mortgage lending director describes the institution’s experience, but it provides no total customer count or list of early access deployments. The headline’s “three lenders” claim is therefore not established for Doc Agent.

A separate MeridianLink social post names Intrepid Credit Union, Essex Mortgage, and Broadway Bank in a discussion of priorities in mortgage lending. It does not connect those institutions to Doc Agent deployments. They should not be described as Doc Agent customers on that basis.

What can the mortgage agent do?
MeridianLink describes four connected capabilities. These are vendor-described functions; the launch materials do not publish independent tests of accuracy or operational impact.
Review submitted documents
The agent is designed to assess documents for completeness, quality, and relevance. MeridianLink’s May product announcement also described checking currency, or whether documents are up to date.

The agent is designed to help move applications through workflow steps with less manual intervention. MeridianLink says it is built into the existing mortgage workflow and keeps lending professionals in control.
What has MeridianLink announced about availability?
In its October 8, 2026 announcement, MeridianLink said Doc Agent for Mortgage was live with early access customers and that it expected general availability in late Q4 2026. That timing is a company expectation, not confirmation that the product has since become generally available. Doc Agent for Consumer was planned for early 2027.

The product was first presented as part of MeridianLink Intelligence on May 12, 2026. At that point, MeridianLink described the mortgage agent as its first task-specific agent and planned general availability in Q4 2026. Its May announcement and related blog post outlined document review, structured data extraction, and borrower-ready requests.
Does Doc Agent replace mortgage underwriters?
The announced product is presented as workflow assistance for lending teams, not as a replacement for underwriters. MeridianLink says people remain in control of consequential decisions. The available launch materials do not explain how individual lenders configure approvals, which tasks require human review, or how the system handles exceptions; those details should be confirmed with MeridianLink or the lender evaluating it.

What outcomes have been reported?
Credit Union of Colorado’s Director of Mortgage Lending and Member Solutions, Andrew Kotaska, said the agent helps fill in application data the team has not always had time to prioritize, and said it takes “real lift off” mortgage staff. These are customer impressions in the launch announcement, not independently measured results.
MeridianLink has not published a Doc Agent accuracy rate, measured time savings, pricing, or a deployment breakdown in the cited launch materials. Separately, its May 2026 announcement reported customer insights on AI priorities: 46% selected accelerating workflows and operational efficiency, 21% selected reducing fraud risk, and 15% selected improving the application experience to reduce applicant drop-off. MeridianLink did not provide the sample size or methodology on the cited pages, so these figures should not be read as independent, industry-wide survey results or evidence of Doc Agent performance.
What to verify when evaluating it
- Deployment status: Confirm whether access is early access or generally available for the lender’s region and setup.
- Supported tasks: Ask which document types and review, extraction, request-generation, and workflow functions are enabled.
- Human controls: Clarify which decisions require staff review and how exceptions or uncertain document data are handled.
- Evidence of impact: Request customer-specific accuracy, processing-time, and error data; the public launch announcement does not provide these measures.
- Commercial and implementation terms: Pricing and implementation requirements are not stated in the public materials cited here.
How it fits MeridianLink’s broader AI plans
MeridianLink announced MeridianLink Intelligence as embedded AI within its MeridianLink One platform in May 2026. The company positioned Doc Agent for Mortgage as the first task-specific agent, with a consumer-lending version planned for early 2027. These are product plans announced by the company, not confirmation that every planned capability or release date has been delivered.

A separate June 2026 announcement from Lorien AI described a planned integration with MeridianLink Mortgage involving conversational AI, document automation, and underwriting support. That is a distinct third-party integration announcement; it does not establish that Lorien is part of Doc Agent or that the integration is currently available. Lorien AI’s announcement describes its own plans.
