Availability and features depend on market, vehicle and connected equipment.
What can the Mercedes-Benz Apple Watch app do?
Mercedes-Benz’s European launch announcement described a set of functions that included locating a parked vehicle, getting walking directions to it and using a compass in open areas without map coverage. Owners could also check vehicle information, including range based on location and battery or fuel level, and see whether the windows were closed. The current US descriptions are not identical to that European launch list. Mercedes-Benz USA’s app page lists finding the vehicle on a map, accessing vehicle information, climatizing the vehicle, and locking or unlocking it. The US App Store’s historical launch note calls out vehicle location, at-a-glance information and door locks. These descriptions should not be treated as a guarantee that every function works in every country or vehicle.

For the US, the App Store version history records the watch app in version 3.51.0 on December 12, 2024. The announcement date and the US listing date therefore refer to different milestones.

What do you need to use it?
European launch requirements
For the European launch, Mercedes-Benz specified a Mercedes me account, the Mercedes-Benz smartphone app version 1.50.0 or later, an Apple Watch running watchOS 9 or later, and the customer’s own data volume. These were launch-era requirements; they are not a confirmed universal checklist for current availability in every market. See the launch announcement for the original regional terms.
US vehicle eligibility
In the US, the App Store listing describes support for model year 2019 and newer vehicles, with select 2018 GLE and C-Class vehicles equipped with the relevant technology as exceptions. Mercedes-Benz USA gives the same broad qualification on its connected-vehicle services page. Model year alone is not enough to confirm support: check the specific vehicle and the feature you intend to use.

How to get it on your Apple Watch
- Check the Mercedes-Benz app listing in the App Store for your region and confirm that your vehicle and desired functions are supported.
- Install or update the Mercedes-Benz smartphone app, then sign in with the Mercedes me account associated with the vehicle. The European launch announcement specified version 1.50.0 or later; current requirements may vary by region.
- Install the Mercedes-Benz app on the paired iPhone and Apple Watch using the installation options available in the App Store or the Watch app. Make sure the watch meets the applicable watchOS requirement.
- Open the app on the watch and follow any prompts to connect it to your account and vehicle. If a function is missing, verify the vehicle’s connected equipment and regional service availability rather than assuming the watch itself is the only requirement.
What about older Mercedes vehicles and mbrace?
Mercedes-Benz USA says mbrace connected-vehicle services ended as of January 1, 2026. The Apple Watch app should not be assumed to restore those discontinued services for an older mbrace-equipped vehicle. Owners of older cars should verify current connected-service eligibility and specific feature support directly with Mercedes-Benz.
Why put vehicle controls on a watch?
Mercedes-Benz said the release responded to customer requests and would let owners interact with the vehicle without taking out a smartphone. That is the company’s stated rationale, not a measured finding about adoption or convenience. In practical terms, the watch interface puts selected status checks and controls within reach, but it does not replace the phone app or expand a vehicle’s underlying connected features.
