The MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX is a customized version of the Dimensity 8100 platform used in the OnePlus 10R 5G—not a separate, standalone retail processor. MediaTek lists a 5 nm process, CPU speeds up to 2.85 GHz and six-core Mali-G610 graphics for the implementation. Geekbench Browser’s displayed user-submitted OnePlus 10R results were 952 single-core and 3,518 multi-core in Geekbench 6 when accessed in 2026; those are handset results, not guaranteed scores for every device or a measure of the chip alone.
What is the Dimensity 8100-MAX?
The Dimensity 8100-MAX is OnePlus’s customized implementation of MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 platform, introduced in the OnePlus 10R 5G. OnePlus described it as customized and exclusive to that phone at launch. The name does not mean that the chip is a separately sold processor, nor does it establish that every detail is identical to the standard Dimensity 8100.

MediaTek’s March 2022 announcement described the standard Dimensity 8100 platform. Its OnePlus-specific description of the 8100-MAX confirms an octa-core CPU reaching up to 2.85 GHz, six-core Arm Mali-G610 graphics, a fifth-generation AI processor and seventh-generation Imagiq camera ISP. MediaTek’s launch announcement provides platform context, while its Dimensity 8100 product page describes the standard chip, not every MAX-specific detail.
Dimensity 8100-MAX specifications
| Specification | What the sources establish |
|---|---|
| Phone implementation | Customized Dimensity 8100-MAX in the OnePlus 10R 5G |
| Manufacturing process | 5 nm |
| CPU | Octa-core; speeds up to 2.85 GHz |
| CPU architecture detail | The standard Dimensity 8100 has four Arm Cortex-A78 cores reaching up to 2.85 GHz. The cited MAX-specific description gives the maximum speed but does not detail all core types. |
| Graphics | Six-core Arm Mali-G610 (Mali-G610 MC6 in MediaTek’s standard-platform announcement) |
| AI and camera | Fifth-generation AI processor and seventh-generation Imagiq camera ISP, according to MediaTek’s MAX-specific description |
The standard Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 8000 both use Mali-G610 MC6 graphics and a 5 nm process in MediaTek’s March 2022 announcement. The standard 8100’s four Cortex-A78 cores reach up to 2.85 GHz, compared with up to 2.75 GHz for the 8000’s corresponding cores. These standard-platform details provide context; they should not be treated as a complete specification sheet for the customized 8100-MAX.

What OnePlus claimed about performance
At the OnePlus 10R launch, OnePlus attributed several improvements to the 8100-MAX. They are vendor claims, not results from an independently controlled comparison in the cited release.
- 11% improved multi-core performance compared with the previous generation.
- 20% improved GPU performance compared with the Dimensity 8000.
- 25% improved power efficiency compared with previous Dimensity chipsets.
- 80% improved AI performance.
MediaTek also said OnePlus tuned the AI processor by up to 175% for Nightscape video mode. That figure refers to a particular camera use case and is a vendor statement, not a general AI benchmark. The cited figures use different comparison baselines and workloads, so they cannot be combined into one overall performance score.
OnePlus 10R Geekbench 6 scores
Geekbench Browser’s OnePlus 10R page displayed user-submitted Geekbench 6 results of 952 single-core and 3,518 multi-core when accessed in 2026. These figures describe submitted results for the phone; they are not an official MediaTek score, an independently controlled test, or a fixed expected result for every 8100-MAX device. A Geekbench score can vary with phone condition, software, temperature, power settings and test procedure. A handset score also reflects the complete device: cooling, memory, battery and software affect how the processor performs. The OnePlus 10R launch release describes the phone’s cooling design and battery and charging configurations alongside its chipset, which is why its results should be understood as device-level evidence.

For a useful comparison, look for results from the same benchmark version and workload. Keep CPU single-core, CPU multi-core and GPU tests separate, and check whether the results are short runs or sustained tests. Also account for the tested phone, cooling, software build, memory configuration, heat and power use. A result from a phone with the standard Dimensity 8100 is not automatically interchangeable with a OnePlus 10R result: the implementation and the rest of the device matter.
OnePlus’s claimed 11% multi-core improvement and the Geekbench Browser scores answer different questions. The former is a company comparison against a previous generation without a reproducible benchmark protocol specified in the cited release; the latter is a dynamic display of user-submitted results for one handset model. Neither should be mathematically combined with the other or presented as a universal score for the chip.
