1Password vs Sticky Password: Which Password Manager Fits Your Needs in 2026?

1Password and Sticky Password differ in plan models, sync options and documented features. Compare their 2026 displayed prices, devices, sharing and migration limits before choosing.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose 1Password if you want a paid subscription with broad, explicitly listed device support, shared vaults and security alerts. Choose Sticky Password if its free option, advertised lifetime license, or choice of cloud, local Wi-Fi and offline sync better fits your priorities. Neither the displayed prices nor the vendors’ security descriptions establish a universal winner. Check the plan, devices and sync behavior you need before buying—and verify passkey support if it matters to you.

How the plans and prices compare

The two services use different pricing models, and the displayed amounts use different currencies. The vendor pages were accessed on October 7, 2026; amounts are not guaranteed checkout prices and may change with region, taxes, currency, billing term or promotions.

Service and plan Displayed price and terms What to keep in mind
1Password Individual $2.99 per month, billed annually Displayed as a promotional rate for new customers subscribing directly through 1Password.com; the page lists $3.99 as the original price. 1Password plan and product details.
1Password Families $4.49 per month, billed annually Displayed as a promotional rate for new direct subscribers; the page lists $5.99 as the original price. Includes invitations for up to five family members and unlimited shared vaults. 1Password plan and product details.
Sticky Password Free Free access Sticky Password distinguishes Free from Premium in its licensing and sync descriptions. Check the current feature limits before relying on it for a particular workflow. Sticky Password licensing model.
Sticky Password Premium, annual offer €29.95 per year; €39.95 reference price displayed Offer and price are as displayed on the vendor page accessed October 7, 2026; terms may vary. Sticky Password pricing.
Sticky Password Premium, lifetime offer €79.95 lifetime; €199.95 reference price displayed The page says core lifetime protection does not expire; optional Dark Web Monitoring can be renewed separately. Sticky Password pricing.

There is no like-for-like currency or billing comparison in those figures. A lifetime offer may appeal if you prefer not to renew, while a free tier may be enough for some users; compare the actual features and terms you need rather than treating one displayed amount as universally cheaper.

Which devices and sync options are listed?

1Password explicitly lists Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and iPad, Android, and Apple Watch access on its product page. Sticky Password’s licensing FAQ names Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. That is a list of platforms named in the FAQ, not proof that other platforms or browsers are unsupported. Check current support for each device and browser you use before committing.

Sync is a more distinctive choice. Sticky Password’s Premium feature list describes cloud sync and backup, local Wi-Fi synchronization, manual offline use, and a no-synchronization option. The licensing FAQ distinguishes Free from Premium for syncing and backup; confirm the current plan details to determine which options are available to you. 1Password promotes access across devices, but the product page reviewed does not detail equivalent sync modes.

  • Prefer access across devices without managing a local-only workflow? Compare the cloud-sync terms in the current plan pages.
  • Want to keep syncing local to your network, work offline manually, or avoid syncing? Sticky Password explicitly advertises these choices for Premium; check the current app and plan documentation for exact behavior.
  • Rely on Linux or Apple Watch? 1Password’s product page names both. Do not infer Sticky Password compatibility or incompatibility from a shorter platform list.

Sharing, recovery and everyday features

1Password describes shared vaults, expiring share links, an Emergency Kit and family account recovery. Families includes invitations for up to five family members and unlimited shared vaults. These features can make it a clearer fit for a household that wants shared credentials and a documented recovery path; check the current plan documentation for permissions and recovery details before relying on them.

Sticky Password advertises secure sharing and emergency access on its pricing page. The material reviewed does not establish the same level of detail about recipient permissions or recovery workflow, so compare those specifics in its current documentation if they are central to your decision.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

1Password also promotes Watchtower alerts. Its product page describes alerts as part of the service; consider whether those notifications are useful to your routine rather than assuming an alert feature alone determines protection.

What the vendors say about security

According to 1Password’s security documentation, account data is end-to-end encrypted with AES-GCM-256, and a 128-bit Secret Key is combined with the account password. The company also describes phishing protection and SRP authentication. These are the vendor’s descriptions of its security model, not an independent comparative assessment. See 1Password’s authentication and encryption explanation and its security overview.

Sticky Password advertises AES-256 encryption, two-step verification and biometric authentication on its pricing page. That page does not provide enough detail to compare the cryptographic designs directly. An encryption algorithm label by itself does not establish that one password manager is safer overall.

Passkeys: verify before making them decisive

1Password’s product material refers to passkeys, and its security documentation discusses passkey unlock. Those references do not establish that every passkey can be migrated or exported in the way a user might expect. The Sticky Password official pages reviewed do not resolve its passkey support. Do not conclude that Sticky Password lacks passkeys or that the products are at parity: check current support documentation for the specific passkey actions you need, especially before switching.

Moving passwords from Sticky Password to 1Password

1Password’s import guide documents CSV imports, mobile Credential Exchange routes for compatible apps, and direct imports from named services and browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, Safari, Bitwarden, Dashlane, KeePass, Keeper, LastPass and RoboForm. The guide reviewed does not establish a direct Sticky Password transfer route or a complete field-by-field mapping. The exact export format available can depend on the Sticky Password app version, so confirm that format and which item types—and passkeys, if relevant—survive before you begin.

  1. Check the current apps and formats. Review 1Password’s import guide and the export options in your Sticky Password app. Confirm compatibility rather than assuming a direct transfer is available.
  2. Make a protected export. If you use an unencrypted file, store it somewhere private and restrict access while the transfer is in progress. 1Password warns that anyone who obtains exported data files can read the passwords; see its export guidance.
  3. Import using a supported route. Follow the current 1Password instructions for the confirmed file format or compatible transfer method. Do not assume that every custom field, attachment or passkey will transfer.
  4. Validate before removing the old copy. Check representative logins and other important item types in 1Password, then confirm that anything you expected to move is present and usable.
  5. Delete temporary exports securely. Once you have validated the import, remove temporary unencrypted files and any extra copies you made.

Which one should you choose?

  • Consider 1Password if you want an explicitly listed Linux option, shared family vaults, expiring share links, Watchtower alerts, or documented import guidance for the source you use.
  • Consider Sticky Password if its Free access, displayed lifetime offer, or advertised choice of cloud, local Wi-Fi, manual offline and no-sync options suits your needs.
  • Compare current plan details first if shared access or recovery is essential. The services’ pages describe different levels of detail, so verify permissions, emergency access and who can recover an account.
  • Pause before deciding if passkeys or a direct Sticky Password-to-1Password transfer are essential. The official material reviewed does not settle those points.
