When will metal-donation testing begin?
The Sansthan announced the testing process for offerings at the Shri Krishna Janmasthan temple. Hindustan Times reported on October 3, 2026, that the machine was expected to become operational from Navratri, which begins October 11. A Press Trust of India report republished by The Tribune on October 2 also described its introduction as planned for Navratri. A Times of India search-result summary that day described the machine as installed, but installation does not establish that the process had begun. The available reports do not confirm operational status as of October 3.

How will the machine test an offering?
According to Sansthan secretary Kapil Sharma, the computerised machine is intended to assess the purity and quantity of metal without breaking the object. Sharma told Hindustan Times: “The machine will not require breaking the metal and can test its purity in its original form.” He also said it could test 20 different metals. That figure and the stated capabilities are claims attributed to the trust, not independently validated performance results.

The reports do not identify the machine’s manufacturer, model, measurement method, accuracy tolerance or calibration process. They therefore do not establish how precise its readings are or how the equipment’s performance is verified.

What will donors receive at the donation counter?
For an offering presented at the counter, the trust says the test will be conducted in the devotee’s presence before the object is accepted. The donor is to receive a receipt and a copy of the test report. The report is to include the donor’s signature and mobile number; the Sansthan says it will retain a second copy.
How will offerings from donation boxes be handled?
Metal offerings placed in donation boxes, known as hundis, are also to be tested during the counting process. Unlike a counter offering, these objects are handled as part of the box-counting procedure rather than tested with the donor present at the donation counter.

What safeguards does the trust report?
The trust says counting and analysis take place in a CCTV-covered room, with staff, guards and an independent observer present. Sharma told Hindustan Times that the footage is retained for six months and that separate equipment and a control room have been established. Hindustan Times also reported that the retention period had been increased from about one month and that temple management decided in July to include a shopkeeper when donation boxes were opened and offerings counted.
