Marvel’s Wolverine has an officially announced New Game Plus mode with exclusive Techniques and Level Caps. As of October 8, 2026, though, the official sources do not explain how to unlock it, how to start it, or what carries over from a previous run. This guide separates what Sony and Insomniac Games have confirmed from what remains open.
Is New Game Plus in Marvel’s Wolverine?
Yes. PlayStation’s August 28, 2026 feature post, published on the PlayStation Blog under Insomniac Games’ feature announcement, lists New Game Plus among the game’s launch features. Aaron Jason Espinoza, Senior Community Manager at Insomniac Games, wrote in that post: “Take it up a notch in New Game Plus with exclusive Techniques and Level Caps, re-experience snippets of the story in Mission Replay, slash high scores in Nightmare Challenges, or crop masterpieces in Photo Mode at any point during gameplay (available with a day one update*).”

That sentence is the full official description of the mode. It confirms that NG+ exists and that it includes exclusive Techniques and Level Caps. It does not give the Level Cap values, the Technique names, or the conditions for either.

What is confirmed about the game
- Platform and release: Sony Interactive Entertainment announced on September 15, 2026 that Marvel’s Wolverine launched worldwide, exclusively on PlayStation 5.
- Game type: PlayStation’s US game page describes a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure. It is not an open-world game, so replay guidance should be read in the context of a story-first structure.
- New Game Plus: Officially announced, with exclusive Techniques and Level Caps (PlayStation Blog, August 28, 2026).
- Photo Mode: Named as a launch feature and marked as available with a day-one update in the same post.
What is not yet established
None of the official material reviewed answers the questions players usually bring to an NG+ guide. Treat the following as unknown until Insomniac or PlayStation publishes details:

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Whether finishing the campaign is required to unlock NG+, and what the menu path to start it is.
- Which progress carries over, including suits, Techniques, Adaptations, upgrades, collectibles, and materials.
- The numeric Level Caps and the names and unlock conditions of the exclusive Techniques.
- Whether NG+ offers difficulty selection or changes enemy encounters.
- Whether Nightmare Challenges are tied to NG+ or work independently.
Insomniac’s other games have their own carryover rules, but those should not be assumed to apply here. Wait for this game’s official documentation before relying on any specific rule.
Replay features announced with New Game Plus
The August 28, 2026 post names three replay-oriented features alongside NG+. The official description for each is short, and none of them publishes entry requirements or reward details.
