If the words on your Galaxy S21 are too small, open Settings > Display > Font size and style and move the font-size slider. If you also want menus, buttons, and other interface elements to appear larger, use Settings > Display > Screen zoom instead. These controls change different things.
Choose between font size and screen zoom
| Setting | What it changes | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Font size and style | Text size; the menu also offers font-style choices. | Words need to be larger, but the overall interface is comfortable. |
| Screen zoom | The scale of text and other screen elements. | You want more than text—such as menus and controls—to appear larger. |
Samsung lists both controls in its Galaxy display settings instructions and display troubleshooting guidance. If changing the font alone is not enough, try Screen zoom.

Change the text size
- Open Settings.
- Tap Display, then Font size and style.
- Move the font-size slider until text is comfortable to read. Choose a font style here too if desired.
Samsung’s font settings guide notes that app behavior can differ: some apps may show Large rather than Huge text when Huge is selected.

- Open Settings.
- Tap Display, then Screen zoom.
- Adjust the slider and check whether the resulting size of text and other interface elements suits you.
Font size targets text; Screen zoom scales more of the interface. Adjust the setting that matches what you want to enlarge rather than expecting one control to do both.

If the setting does not affect an app or webpage
System text sizing is not universal. Some apps may not follow the device’s font-size setting, or may cap the size they display. Check the affected app for its own text, display, or accessibility controls.
Webpages can have a separate text-size control in a browser. Samsung Japan’s instructions for changing text size on a Galaxy device distinguish device text size from webpage text sizing. If only one webpage is hard to read, look for the browser’s page-text controls rather than assuming the phone-wide slider controls it.

Use magnification for a closer view
If you need to enlarge only part of the screen or zoom in temporarily, a Samsung Community reply in a Galaxy S21 discussion about difficult-to-read print suggests checking Settings > Accessibility > Vision enhancements > Magnification. Choose an available shortcut there to magnify part or all of the screen. This route comes from community guidance, and menu wording or availability may differ; it is an accessibility aid, not the same as permanently scaling the interface with Screen zoom.

If the menus look different
Samsung cautions that available screens and settings may vary by wireless service provider, software version, and device model. If the paths above do not match your S21, use the Settings search field to search for Font size and style or Screen zoom. The exact labels and options are not guaranteed to be identical on every device.
