The abxylute N6 is a wired, deck-style controller that attaches to the Nintendo Switch 2 for handheld play. Its main appeal is a fuller grip and added controls without switching to a separate controller. Reviewers praised its comfort and controls, but noted that part of the console protrudes from the support and that firmware updates required a PC in the review they tested.
What the abxylute N6 adds to Switch 2 handheld mode
The Switch 2 connects to the N6 through its wired USB-C connection, turning the setup into a handheld controller grip rather than a wireless gamepad. The manufacturer lists Hall-effect joysticks, native 9-axis gyro support, two programmable rear buttons, button mapping and macros, three-speed turbo, conductive-rubber ABXY buttons and D-pad, tactile shoulder switches, a C button, and dual linear motors with four vibration levels on its official N6 product page.

Hall-effect sticks are designed to reduce stick drift, but that construction is not a guarantee against every fault or a promise of lifetime durability. The control options are most useful if you want to remap inputs or use the rear buttons and turbo; they matter less if you are satisfied with the standard handheld controls.
How reviewers found it to use
In a hands-on review published February 18, 2026, Jordan Biordi of CGMagazine praised the N6’s ergonomic feel, solid frame, button response, D-pad, gyro, vibration settings, and turbo. CGMagazine scored it 9/10 and highlighted a GameCube-inspired purple colorway. These are the reviewer’s impressions, not results from a controlled comparison. Biordi’s review conclusion was: “The abxylute N6 Nintendo Switch 2 Deck is an excellent handheld add-on that makes using the Switch 2 much more comfortable and functional.” (CGMagazine review)

Frandroid scored the controller 8/10, praising the ease of fitting the console, the grip, responsive controls, shortcuts, and the absence of perceptible latency in its described sessions. It also noted two practical drawbacks: the console sticks out slightly from the support, and firmware updates required downloading files on a PC and importing them to the controller. That update workflow was a limitation at the time of Frandroid’s review; it may have changed since. (Frandroid review)
How it compares with Joy-Con and the Pro Controller
The N6, Joy-Con, and Pro Controller suit different ways of playing. Frandroid names the Switch 2 Joy-Con and Pro Controller as alternatives, but the available reviews do not provide a controlled, common-method comparison across all three. Treat this as a form-factor guide, not a claim that one is universally better.

Choose based on where you play and what feels comfortable: the N6 is aimed at a more substantial attached grip, while Joy-Con keep the console’s detachable-controller arrangement and the Pro Controller offers a separate conventional setup. Compare the current price and the controls you actually use rather than assuming the N6’s additional features make it the right fit.
Price, availability, and what to verify
The abxylute US product page listed the N6 at $59.99 USD when accessed October 8, 2026, with $69.00 crossed out. That is a dated product-page snapshot, not a guaranteed live or regional price. CGMagazine listed an earlier $79 MSRP in its February 18, 2026 review. If portability is a priority, also check whether the N6 Protective Bag shown on the product page is currently available and whether it fits your needs. The reviewed firmware workflow is worth confirming with the seller or current product support if you do not have convenient access to a PC.

The N6 is most compelling for Switch 2 owners who play handheld often and want a fuller grip, a D-pad-focused layout, or programmable rear controls while keeping the console attached. The reviewers’ comfort and control impressions are positive, but the protruding console and reported PC-based update process are meaningful practical considerations. If you rarely play handheld or prefer a detachable or separate controller arrangement, Joy-Con or a Pro Controller may suit your routine better.
