The MAINGEAR Zero is a premium gaming desktop whose appeal is as much its curved-glass presentation and carefully routed interior as its high-end components. Gizmodo’s September 2026 review praised its performance, quiet operation and easy access, but noted limited expansion and top-panel connectivity, plus occasional coil whine. At current listed prices of $2,799 to $7,099, it makes the most sense for buyers who want a polished showcase PC—not shoppers chasing the lowest price per frame.

Is the MAINGEAR Zero worth the price?
It may be worth the premium if you care about the PC as an object in the room: the curved glass, tidy visible interior and accessible layout are central to the Zero’s appeal. Gizmodo’s reviewer described it as a strong-performing, quiet and cool system that does not overwhelm a desk, and awarded it 4.5. The review also highlights a display stage for figurines or brick builds, making the case useful as a showcase.
For a buyer focused mainly on gaming speed per dollar, the price is harder to defend. Compare the Zero’s total cost with systems offering similar CPU and GPU performance, and decide what the presentation, assembly and cable management are worth to you. The current lineup pairs NVIDIA RTX 50-series graphics with Intel or AMD processors; the displayed configurations do not offer AMD graphics.

What does the Zero look and feel like to use?
Curved glass and a clean interior
Gizmodo reports that the glass case is easy to open and the internals are accessible. Rear-routed motherboard connections and careful cable routing help keep the visible side uncluttered while making connections easier to reach. This is a practical advantage for maintenance as well as an aesthetic one.
Cooling and noise
The review describes its unit as quiet and cool, while also listing occasional coil whine. Those observations are impressions, not published controlled noise or temperature measurements. MAINGEAR describes the Zero line as using a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooler and seven fans with custom curves.

There is a configuration caveat: Gizmodo’s preorder review unit had a TRYX Panorama SE AIO with a programmable curved display. The reviewer says most Zero PCs ship with a 360mm AIO, so do not assume that the reviewed cooler—or exactly the same behavior—comes with every current configuration.
What are the MAINGEAR Zero’s drawbacks?
- Limited expansion: The reviewed system’s micro-ATX motherboard provides fewer expansion slots than a larger motherboard, which may constrain add-in cards.
- Limited top I/O: The reviewer found the top-panel ports sparse. Check the detailed configuration and your peripheral needs before buying.
- Occasional coil whine: The review notes it despite the otherwise positive impression of noise levels.
- High cost at the top end: The current Champion listing is $7,099, so buyers should compare component performance and total cost against alternatives.
How should you evaluate the performance claims?
Gizmodo’s review gives a qualitative report of strong gaming performance, but the material available here does not establish controlled benchmark results, temperatures or sound measurements. MAINGEAR publishes configuration-specific game FPS estimates on product pages. The company describes these as averages from fixed per-game settings, rounded down, and estimates rather than guarantees; results can vary with drivers, game updates, settings and component variation. Treat them as manufacturer data, not independent benchmarks or a cross-brand comparison.

To decide whether a particular configuration suits you, match its CPU and GPU to your target resolution and frame rate, then compare current prices against similarly equipped PCs. Also consider case size and presentation, maintenance access, motherboard slots and ports, cooling evidence, warranty and support, and the value you place on a built and cable-managed system versus a plainer prebuilt or self-build.
What support and delivery terms are listed?
MAINGEAR’s collection lists a one-year limited warranty and lifetime support from its US-based team. It also states that shipping is complimentary in the contiguous United States, with preconfigured models typically shipping in 1–2 business days and custom configurations in 3+ business days; these are estimates, not guarantees. Check the live product page for current availability, shipping eligibility, warranty terms and exclusions, and any financing offer.
