MacBook Pro Alternatives for Windows Users: Which Laptop Fits Your Work?

The Dell XPS 14, ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition PX13, and Razer Blade 16 target different needs. Choose by workload and exact configuration, not laptop label alone.

The best Windows alternative to a MacBook Pro depends on what you need it to do: consider the Dell XPS 14 (2026) for a premium portable system, the ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition PX13 for creator-focused work, or the Razer Blade 16 (2026) for a high-performance option. None is a universal replacement. Match the laptop’s configuration to your software and workload, then weigh sustained performance, graphics, display, battery testing, ports, and price.

Which Windows laptop should you consider?

Your priority Candidate What to know
Premium portability Dell XPS 14 (2026) RTINGS describes it as a premium, portable laptop, with configurations offering up to 64GB of RAM and a 120Hz OLED touchscreen. Its comparison was against a MacBook Air, not a MacBook Pro; RTINGS says that MacBook Air lasts longer on battery and holds performance better under sustained workloads. RTINGS
Creator-focused portable work ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition PX13 Tom’s Guide reports an 11-hour-12-minute Wi-Fi browsing battery result and an 18,407 Geekbench 6 multi-core result for its tested configuration. It has microSD rather than full-size SD. Tom’s Guide
High-end performance Razer Blade 16 (2026) Creative Bloq names it the overall pick in its MacBook Pro alternatives guide. That editorial recommendation does not establish that it is best for every workload; check the exact GPU, display, memory, and price configuration. Creative Bloq
Compact everyday use Dell XPS 13 (2026) Tom’s Guide discusses a $699 configuration weighing 2.2 pounds, with an Intel Core 5 320 and 8GB RAM, and records 14 hours 29 minutes in its battery test. That configuration is not a like-for-like high-end MacBook Pro replacement. Tom’s Guide
Lightweight Arm laptop HP OmniBook Ultra 14 Tom’s Guide reports more than 13 hours of battery life and an OLED touchscreen, while flagging application-support issues with its Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. Verify compatibility with essential applications, drivers, peripherals, and games before choosing an Arm laptop. Tom’s Guide

How should you match a laptop to your workload?

Editing photos and video

Start with the editing applications, media formats, and project sizes you actually use. Check the precise processor, graphics hardware, RAM, and storage in the configuration you plan to buy; the model name alone does not establish how well it will handle your projects. If your workflow uses full-size SD cards, factor in the PX13’s microSD slot rather than assuming it has a full-size reader.

3D, graphics, and gaming

Find out whether your applications benefit from a discrete GPU or can run well on integrated graphics. Compare the exact GPU and cooling configuration, and look for sustained workload results in the software you use. A single synthetic benchmark score cannot establish how a laptop will perform across 3D rendering, editing, and games.

Development and everyday work

For coding, office work, and travel, consider portability, display comfort, battery behavior, memory, and the ports needed for your peripherals. If you are considering a Snapdragon-powered Arm laptop, check support for your required development tools, drivers, and connected devices before purchase.

What do the battery figures actually tell you?

Battery results are useful only when read with their test method and configuration. Tom’s Guide says it sets displays to 150 nits and browses the web over Wi-Fi until the laptop runs out of power. In that test, it recorded 20 hours 41 minutes for the Dell XPS 14 non-OLED configuration and 12 hours 23 minutes for the OLED configuration. The difference shows why a model name without its panel configuration is not enough to interpret a runtime.

Tom’s Guide recorded 11 hours 12 minutes for the ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition PX13 using the same stated browsing method. These are publication test results for the reviewed configurations, not promises of runtime for every buyer or workload.

Dell advertises up to 31 hours of streaming battery life for select XPS 14 and XPS 16 configurations in its 2026 US buying guide. That is a manufacturer claim, not a Tom’s Guide test result, and streaming is not the same method as Wi-Fi web browsing. Dell’s 2026 Laptop Buying Guide

What else should you compare before buying?

  • Configuration: Confirm processor, integrated or discrete graphics, RAM, storage, screen size, resolution, refresh rate, and panel type for the exact listing. Options and prices can vary by region and change over time.
  • Real workload performance: Prioritize reviews using applications like yours and sustained workloads. Tom’s Guide reports 18,407 multi-core Geekbench 6 for its tested PX13 configuration, but that score does not predict performance in every creative application.
  • Ports and peripherals: Check that the laptop supports your displays, storage cards, docks, and other devices without relying on assumptions based on the product family.
  • Software compatibility: On Windows-on-Arm models, confirm that critical apps, plug-ins, drivers, games, and peripherals work as expected. If a required tool is unsupported, an Intel- or AMD-based option may be the safer choice.
  • Service and upgrade options: Verify warranty coverage and whether memory or storage can be upgraded for the specific model and regional configuration; these details are not established consistently across the candidates listed here.

How to make the final choice

  1. List your must-run applications, typical projects, and essential peripherals.
  2. Choose the workload category that matters most: portable premium use, creator work, or graphics-heavy performance.
  3. Compare the exact configurations that are available where you live, including graphics, memory, screen, ports, and price.
  4. Use battery tests only when the method and configuration are clear, and treat manufacturer claims separately from independent test results.
  5. Before ordering, verify current availability, software compatibility, warranty, and upgrade details for the exact model.
