Requirements and version checks before installing
Use a launcher that can install or import CurseForge Forge modpacks. Download the client and server files from the same release line. A 1.20.1 client on a different Forge build or modpack revision can fail to connect even when the Minecraft version appears correct.

Install the client pack
- Open a launcher with CurseForge modpack support and choose the option to import or install a pack from CurseForge.
- Search for Lucky World Invasion by huanghui. Select release 2.7.2, Minecraft 1.20.1, and Forge rather than a similarly named project.
- Let the launcher download and create a dedicated instance. Do not add another mod, shader loader or configuration pack until the unmodified instance starts successfully.

- From the Minecraft title screen, select Create World.
- Set World Type to Skyblock.
- Select Customize.
- Use Select Race Map and choose the map for your group.
- Create the world and confirm that all players join the same race-map selection.
This path matters because generating a normal world first and then importing a race map does not use the pack’s advertised map-selection system.
Understand the invasion timeline
Invasions are intended to ramp up rather than appear at full intensity immediately. The project description documents a delayed start and a 21-day grace period. That number is a pack configuration described for the relevant release, not a universal Minecraft rule; check the configuration and release notes if you update.
Use the grace period to establish shelter, food, storage, tools and a communications plan. In a group, decide who handles resource gathering, who watches for events and where players regroup after a death. Once invasions begin, treating every night as ordinary survival can leave a team unprepared for the increased pressure.
Lucky blocks and risk management
Lucky blocks are the pack’s central gamble. The project page names Pink, Summer, Fire, Among Us, Desert, Elemental, Water, Frost Element, Morbius, Wind Element, Heat Element and Energy Element blocks, along with custom Lucky World Invasion and Tacz blocks. Their names indicate variety, not a guaranteed reward table for every version.

- Open unfamiliar blocks away from your main storage and bed.
- Keep a cleared fallback area so a hostile result does not destroy the only shelter.
- Store irreplaceable items before testing a new block type.
- On a server, tell players which area is reserved for experiments to prevent accidental chain reactions near spawn.
Combat, weapons and the End
Tacz firearms are listed as a core feature, alongside rebalanced weapon progression and adaptive or smart AI mobs. That combination changes the value of ordinary armor, ammunition and cover: a strategy that works against vanilla zombies may not survive a pack event.
The Ender Dragon is significantly buffed according to the official description. Plan the dragon fight as a late-game operation rather than assuming a standard vanilla equipment check. Bring redundant supplies, a recovery route and enough players to handle unusual mob behavior or event pressure.

KubeJS scripting and multiplayer quality of life
KubeJS event scripting is configurable in the pack. Configuration changes can alter timing, recipes or event behavior, so make a backup before editing files and record every change. Multiplayer quality-of-life improvements are included by the project, but exact options can differ between releases and server configurations.
Shaders and invasion visuals
Shaders can run with the pack, but the project says invasion sky effects are disabled when shaders are enabled. If the invasion sky is part of the atmosphere you want, play without shaders. If you prefer shader lighting, expect that visual trade-off rather than troubleshooting it as a graphics failure.

Set up a self-hosted server
Self-hosting gives you ownership of the files and configuration, but it also makes you responsible for installation, networking, backups, updates and recovery. The official files listing confirms a dedicated server ZIP; it does not publish a complete startup command sequence, so follow the instructions and scripts included in that archive instead of copying a command from an unrelated Forge pack.
- Open the official CurseForge files page and download
Lucky-World-Invasion-Server-Files-2.7.2.zip. - Extract the archive into a new server directory. Keep this directory separate from your client instance so that client-only files are not accidentally substituted for server files.
- Read the archive’s included instructions, scripts and configuration notes. Accept the Minecraft EULA only through the normal server setup process when prompted; do not assume an absent or renamed file has the same meaning as in another Forge distribution.
- Configure the server properties, world name, difficulty and access controls for your group. Preserve the pack’s supplied mods, scripts and configuration unless you have a specific compatibility reason to change them.
- Start the server using the launch method supplied in the archive. Because the published project information does not provide a universal command line, the exact command depends on the files bundled in the selected release.
- Stop the server cleanly after the first startup, review the generated logs for missing mods or failed scripts, and make a backup before inviting players.
- Give every player the matching 2.7.2 client instance. A server running 2.7.2 should not be paired with a newer client build simply because both report Minecraft 1.20.1.
- For internet play, configure the host firewall and router forwarding according to your network equipment, protect operator privileges, and share the address only with intended players. Those network steps are general administration tasks rather than Lucky World Invasion-specific commands.
What self-hosting does and does not provide
You control save files, logs, scripts and backups, and can inspect or change configuration directly. In exchange, you must supply the computer, maintain Java and Forge compatibility, handle port forwarding, watch resource usage and restore the world if an update or event damages it. No official RAM minimum or supported player-count ceiling is published, so do not advertise a fixed capacity without measuring your own server.

A managed host can remove most operating-system and network administration. VeryGames documents a panel workflow for this pack and lists release 2.7.2 as Minecraft 1.20.1-47.4.4.
- Open the provider’s control panel and choose Create a new installation.
- Select Lucky World Invasion from the modpack list.
- Choose the required version, such as 2.7.2, and create the server.
- Wait for the panel to finish installing, then use the connection details it supplies.
- Install the same client release on every player’s computer before connecting.
The provider’s documented update path is Addons → Lucky World Invasion → Update, followed by selecting the new version: VeryGames Lucky World Invasion listing. Choose self-hosting when preserving direct ownership of files and configuration is more important than convenience. Choose managed hosting when a panel-based install, provider networking and one-click-style updates justify an ongoing service charge. Neither option removes the need for identical client and server versions.
Keeping clients and servers synchronized
Most connection failures are version mismatches rather than networking defects. Record the exact pack release and Forge build in your server’s administration notes. When upgrading, schedule a maintenance window and move all clients and the server together.

- Server starts but players disconnect during login: compare the server package and every client against the same release and inspect logs for a missing or extra mod.
- World behaves differently after an update: restore the pre-update backup, verify configuration changes and test the new release on a copy of the world before reopening the live server.
- Invasion visuals are missing: disable shaders if you want the sky effects; their absence with shaders enabled is documented behavior.

- Store a copy outside the live server directory so a disk failure or mistaken deletion does not remove both copies.
- Write down the pack release, Forge build, configuration edits and date for each backup.
- Test restoring a backup on a temporary instance. A backup that has never been restored is only an assumption.
Do not overwrite a working world with a new release until the matching clients have been prepared and the update has been tested. The pack’s progressive invasions and custom scripts make configuration drift particularly difficult to diagnose after the fact.
Modrinth tools and format limitations
Documentation for Modrinth Servers, mrpack-install and itzg/minecraft-server covers Modrinth-format packs. The available project information does not establish an official Modrinth build of Lucky World Invasion. Therefore, do not assume that a Modrinth installer can fetch this CurseForge project, resolve its files or produce a compatible server automatically. Use the official CurseForge client and server artifacts unless the pack author publishes a verified package in another format. Licensing and redistribution
The original CurseForge project displays an All Rights Reserved license. That means you should not mirror, modify or redistribute the pack as if it were an open-license bundle without permission. The separate Lucky World Invasion Reloaded repository states that its own official releases may be redistributed unmodified with credit, while modified versions or forks published as separate modpacks require permission; third-party mods retain their own licenses. Those Reloaded terms do not automatically apply to the original pack.
For a private server, download the files from the official listing and give players the launcher or installation instructions they need. For public distribution, obtain permission from the original project owner and respect each included mod’s license.
