The account later posted this notice, as reproduced by Kotaku: “Safety Notice: All drinks shown are fictional and for in-game purposes only. Flame lily is a toxic plant
Flame lily is a common name for Gloriosa superba, according to North Carolina State Extension’s Gardener Plant Toolbox. The Extension says all parts are poisonous to humans if ingested, especially the tubers, and describes the plant as highly toxic and potentially fatal if eaten. It identifies colchicine and other alkaloids among the toxic principles.

Datura was identified in reporting
PC Gamer identified Datura as another plant in the drink concepts and described it as psychoactive and toxic. The available reporting does not establish a detailed medical risk profile for this incident, so it is more accurate to rely on the game’s own instruction: do not recreate or consume the fictional drinks.
What is known—and what is not
- The reported warning explicitly said the drinks were fictional, intended for in-game purposes, and not to be made or consumed in reality.
- Contemporary coverage identified Datura and flame lily as proposed garnishes; these details are attributed to reporting rather than independently retrieved original posts.
- The sources reviewed do not establish that anyone prepared or consumed a drink, or that anyone was injured.
- No verified exposure count, injury count, sales effect, or representative measure of audience response is established in the coverage cited here.
Pocket Gamer called the episode a “PR stumble”, but its discussion of fan sentiment and overseas spending is commentary, not an audited measure of business impact.
