The Logitech MX Master 4 was officially unveiled on September 30, 2025, turning the earlier “Special Edition” leak into a product fact check. The pre-launch material pointed to the mouse’s exterior design, but it could not verify the electronics, software, price, release date or packaging. Logitech’s launch information confirms a $119.99 US list price, customizable haptic feedback, the Actions Ring shortcut overlay and an 8,000 DPI sensor.
When did the MX Master 4 launch?
Logitech announced the MX Master 4 on September 30, 2025. That official announcement supersedes the earlier leak reports for product specifications and availability.

Regional pricing and release timing vary. Logitech lists a US price of $119.99, while its announcement gives a European price of €129.99. Logitech Japan announced a release on October 30, 2025, at ¥21,890 including tax.
What actually leaked before launch?
Secondary reporting placed a Logitech design filing with the European Union Intellectual Property Office in June 2025. Images associated with that filing provided evidence of the mouse’s exterior design direction and helped trigger coverage of a possible MX Master 4 Special Edition.

- Logitech MX Master 3S Bluetooth Edition is a Bluetooth only mouse, and does not come with any USB receiver / adapter or charging cable
- 8K DPI Any-surface tracking: Use MX Master 3S cordless computer mouse to work on any surface - even glass (1) - with an 8000 DPI sensor with customizable sensitivity
- Quiet Clicks: MX Master 3S Bluetooth mouse with Quiet Clicks - offering the same satisfying feel but with 90% less click noise (2)

A design filing is not a product specification sheet. The filing or leaked image could not establish the final sensor, battery, wireless hardware, software features, price, launch date or retail packaging. Any pre-launch claim about those details was a prediction until Logitech published the product information.
What Logitech confirmed at launch
Customizable haptic feedback
Logitech describes MX Master 4 as the first MX mouse with customizable haptics. Haptic feedback adds tactile responses to supported interactions, and Logitech says the intensity and behavior can be customized rather than treated as a fixed vibration effect.

Actions Ring shortcut overlay
The Actions Ring is an on-screen shortcut overlay designed to provide quick access to frequently used tools. Logitech positions it as a way to reach commands without repeatedly navigating menus. Its behavior is configured through Logi Options+.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →High-resolution tracking
The mouse uses a sensor adjustable from 200 to 8,000 DPI. Logitech says it tracks on glass, a useful capability for desks where a conventional optical sensor may struggle. DPI is a sensitivity setting, not a guarantee of greater precision at every value.

What the MX Master 4 means for buyers
The most meaningful change is not the leaked shell but the combination of tactile feedback and software shortcuts. Users who spend much of the day in creative, office or development applications may benefit from assigning frequent actions to the Actions Ring. Those who want a conventional silent or vibration-free pointer should check the haptic controls in Logi Options+ and disable or reduce feedback if preferred.
At 150 g, the MX Master 4 remains a substantial productivity mouse rather than an ultralight model. Its rechargeable battery, multi-device pairing and 10-meter wireless range suit desk-based workflows that move between computers. The 8,000 DPI ceiling is ample for general productivity and high-resolution displays, while the ability to track on glass addresses a specific surface limitation.

Bottom line on the “Special Edition” leak
The leak was useful as an early signal that Logitech was developing a new MX Master design, but it was not proof of the final product.
