If Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) says “No devices detected,” Logitech’s documented fix for the G300s and G502 is to leave the mouse connected, uninstall LGS, restart the computer, and install the version specified for that model. The G502 instructions require LGS 8.53 or later; the G300s guidance says to install the latest version available for that mouse. These are model-specific steps, not a guaranteed fix for every Logitech device.
Use the reinstall steps that match your mouse
Logitech’s support articles for the G300s and G502 recommend the same basic sequence. Follow it only if you have one of those models; for another device, first check its exact Logitech Downloads page for compatible software and instructions. Logitech’s G300s guidance and G502 guidance cover those particular mice.

- Keep the affected mouse connected to the computer.
- Uninstall Logitech Gaming Software.
- Restart the computer. Logitech specifically warns G502 users not to skip this step.
- Install the appropriate LGS version for your mouse. The G502 article specifies version 8.53 or later. The G300s article says to use the latest version available for that mouse.
- Restart again if the installer prompts you to.
The version requirement is not interchangeable: Logitech’s 8.53-or-later instruction is specifically for the G502. Use the exact model’s support or downloads page to confirm which software is offered for it and your operating system.

Check whether your model and operating system are supported
LGS is Logitech software for customizing Logitech G gaming mice and keyboards, but the available software and compatibility depend on the product and operating system. The LGS product page lists a Mac release, version 8.53.130, last updated 2014-06-17, for Mac OS X 10.8.x and 10.9.x. Those are historical, OS-specific details—not evidence of the newest release today or support for a current Mac.

That product page’s release notes also record a past detection problem affecting some G-mice in the 602/600/400s families and list it as resolved in an update. This does not provide a complete current compatibility list. Check the support page for your exact model and operating system before installing or troubleshooting further.
Make sure this is LGS detection, not receiver pairing
“No Devices Detected” can also appear during a different task: adding a device to a Unifying receiver. Logitech’s Unifying receiver pairing instructions describe selecting a mouse channel, holding its connect button until the light flashes, then following on-screen power-cycle instructions. That workflow is for pairing a device with a receiver; it is not the fix for LGS failing to recognize a compatible gaming mouse or keyboard.

If your actual problem is pairing a Unifying device, follow Logitech’s pairing flow and restart pairing if the device remains unresponsive. If the device is already connected and LGS does not recognize it, use the LGS guidance for its exact model instead.
What to do if the device still does not appear
The cited Logitech articles do not establish a universal fix involving USB ports, drivers, permissions, or background processes. Avoid treating those as confirmed causes. Check the exact product’s Logitech support/download page for model-specific steps and software availability; the device model and operating system are needed to identify the appropriate guidance.
