Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2: Is Its Lightweight Focus Worth the Trade-Offs?

The G PRO X Superlight 2 combines a specified 60 g weight with high-end sensor and wireless ceilings, but its price and simplified controls will not suit everyone.

The Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2 is worth considering if you want a very light wireless gaming mouse and value its competitive-play focus over extra controls. Logitech specifies a 60 g weight and high-end sensor and wireless ceilings, but those maximum figures do not guarantee a noticeable advantage for every player. The main compromises are its price, lack of a dedicated DPI button, and simpler control layout.

What the Superlight 2 offers

Logitech lists a 125 × 63.5 × 40 mm body weighing 60 g. Its HERO 2 sensor is specified for up to 44,000 DPI and tracking speeds above 888 IPS, while LIGHTSPEED wireless supports polling rates up to 8 kHz. These are manufacturer-published maximums, not independent test results or settings every player needs. Logitech Support’s specifications and the Logitech G product page provide the listed details.

Logitech describes its LIGHTFORCE switches as a hybrid optical-mechanical design and rates them for 70 million clicks. That figure is the manufacturer’s rating, not a guarantee of an individual mouse’s lifespan. The same product page describes the switch design and rating.

Pros: where it makes sense

Low weight is the clearest benefit

At a specified 60 g, the mouse’s central appeal is a lightweight build. That can suit players who prefer a light mouse for frequent or broad movements. Weight alone does not establish that it will suit your grip or hand; shape and comfort remain personal.

Strong published tracking and wireless ceilings

The HERO 2 sensor and support for up to 8 kHz polling give the mouse a high-spec competitive positioning. A very high DPI ceiling is not a promise of better aim, and a high polling ceiling is useful only if it fits your preferences and the rest of your setup. Consider the games you play, your display and system, and the sensitivity and polling settings you actually use rather than buying on maximum figures alone.

Sensor behavior can be configured in G HUB

Logitech says G HUB supports X/Y sensitivity adjustment and adjustable lift-off tolerance. This gives users software-based ways to tune sensor behavior, though it means those adjustments depend on Logitech’s desktop software.

Cons: the compromises to weigh

Price is part of the value calculation

Tom’s Guide characterizes the mouse as pricey while naming it an outstanding option and highlighting competitive-play performance in its October 5, 2026 roundup. That is the reviewer’s assessment, not a reproduced lab result. The price varies by retailer and region, so check the current local listing before deciding whether its weight and feature set justify the cost. Tom’s Guide’s 2026 gaming-mouse roundup gives its editorial context.

DPI changes require desktop software

PC Gamer reports that DPI must be adjusted through G HUB; the mouse lacks a dedicated onboard DPI selector. That is a meaningful drawback if you frequently switch sensitivity or want to make the change without desktop software. PC Gamer’s coverage discusses this control limitation.

The streamlined layout leaves out some features

The Superlight 2 prioritizes a simpler design rather than a broad set of controls and visual extras. In RTINGS’ comparison, the G PRO 2 LIGHTSPEED has customizable buttons on both sides, a truly ambidextrous configuration, and an RGB lighting zone that the Superlight 2 lacks. These are preference differences, not universal defects: they matter most if you need side buttons on either side or want lighting and more onboard controls. RTINGS’ comparison, updated May 21, 2026, also characterizes the Superlight 2 as lighter and more premium, with better sensor and click-latency performance and a higher maximum polling rate.

How to decide whether it is worth buying

  • Choose it if: low weight is a priority, its shape feels suitable to you, and you value its competitive-focused sensor and wireless specifications more than extra controls or lighting.
  • Look elsewhere if: you often change DPI without software, want customizable buttons on both sides, need a truly ambidextrous button layout, or place a high value on RGB lighting.
  • Compare before paying: check current local price, weight, shape and hand fit, left- and right-side button availability, onboard DPI controls, software dependence, polling-rate capability, and lighting. The right choice depends on those preferences, not one specification in isolation.

RTINGS’ comparison is a useful starting point if you are weighing this mouse against the G PRO 2 LIGHTSPEED: the Superlight 2 emphasizes lower weight and performance positioning, while the G PRO 2 offers the additional controls and RGB described above. Review the comparison in the context of your own hand fit and feature priorities rather than treating either model as the universal winner.
