The template is the visible interface: the page, fields, and styling that a visitor interacts with. It does not, by itself, check credentials, create accounts, maintain sessions, or protect pages. A form that merely looks finished can still be nonfunctional if it has no real authentication connection.

What you need to make it work
Connect the form to server-side login code or an authentication provider. The server-side component must verify passwords and handle the authentication flow; send login traffic over HTTPS. - Use a genuine HTML form with the correct destination and method for your backend or provider.
- Set appropriate autocomplete values for the username and current password, and allow password pasting.
- Show validation errors in text. For incorrect credentials, avoid revealing whether an account exists.
- Do not treat example social-login, passkey, Face ID, or SSO buttons as working features unless you connect them to a real provider.
These are implementation recommendations from Colorlib, not the results of an independent security audit. The downloaded page alone should not be described as a secure authentication system.
How to customize and preview the page
Colorlib’s collection tutorial describes editing the HTML, visible text, links, form action, and CSS, then previewing the result in a browser. Before publishing, make sure the form’s destination is your real authentication endpoint rather than a demo or placeholder, and test the complete sign-in flow with the backend or provider connected.

Bootstrap, jQuery, and package details
There is an apparent version-specific distinction to check: the individual V08 listing calls it a Bootstrap template, while Colorlib’s September 2026 collection says its templates were rebuilt to work without Bootstrap files or jQuery, using HTML, CSS, and a small amount of vanilla JavaScript. The collection’s general description does not establish which dependencies are present in every V08 download. Inspect the exact package you obtain rather than assuming it either requires or omits Bootstrap or jQuery.
License and attribution
The V08 listing states CC BY 3.0. Colorlib’s current collection says its templates are free for personal and commercial projects under that license provided the Colorlib credit link remains. Check the license accompanying your specific download and retain the required credit link when you use the template; do not assume the collection’s terms override different terms packaged with a particular file.
