If a Livepush stream shows offline in YouTube Studio, first check whether Livepush is receiving video from your encoder. Then verify the YouTube destination and event, confirm that the event has actually been started, and inspect encoder and network health. “Offline” is a symptom, not a diagnosis: trace the stream through each link before changing settings.
Trace the stream from encoder to YouTube
A Livepush-to-YouTube stream has several links: your encoder sends video to Livepush, Livepush sends it to the configured YouTube destination, and YouTube receives it through a live event. A failure at any point can leave YouTube Studio showing the event as offline. Check each stage in order so you do not troubleshoot YouTube settings before confirming that video reached Livepush.

1. Check whether Livepush receives the encoder feed
Open the stream dashboard in Livepush and check the incoming-stream status, video preview, and health-monitor activity. The dashboard documents incoming online/offline status, bytes received from the encoder, bitrate, FPS, keyframe interval, resolution, codecs, and uptime (Livepush dashboard documentation).
- No incoming data or an offline status: make sure the encoder is running and configured with the correct Livepush ingest settings. Resolve this encoder-to-Livepush connection before changing the YouTube event.
- Incoming data and a moving preview: Livepush is receiving a feed. Continue to the destination checks; a healthy ingest does not prove that the YouTube destination is enabled or connected to the intended event.
2. Verify the YouTube destination in Livepush
Confirm that the destination points to the intended YouTube channel and event and that its switch is on. For a linked-account setup, Livepush’s setup guide says to select the channel, choose “New Live Event” when creating an event, save the destination, and turn on its switch to begin sending (Livepush YouTube destination setup, dated January 25, 2025).

If the destination is disabled, attached to the wrong channel or event, or was not saved, correct that configuration and check YouTube Studio again.
3. If you use manual RTMP, check the event and stream key
With manual RTMP, the YouTube event’s stream key must be entered in the Livepush destination. Make sure you selected the correct event, copied its current key, saved the destination, and enabled it. Livepush’s manual setup guide explains this event-by-event process (Livepush manual RTMP setup, dated January 25, 2025).

If the key may be incorrect or outdated, YouTube advises generating a new key in Live Control Room and updating the encoder or destination that uses it (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting). Treat stream keys like passwords: do not share them or expose them in screenshots.

4. Confirm YouTube is ready and the event is live
If this is your first time live streaming on the YouTube account, YouTube says enabling live streaming can take up to 24 hours (YouTube live-stream setup). A scheduled or created event is not necessarily broadcasting yet.
- Connect the encoder and confirm that Livepush is sending to the intended YouTube event.
- Open that event in YouTube Live Control Room and wait for the encoder preview to appear.
- For a scheduled stream, click Go live when the preview is ready.
YouTube’s setup guidance describes connecting the encoder, waiting for the preview, and then starting the scheduled broadcast in Live Control Room (YouTube scheduled live-stream setup).

5. Read encoder output and YouTube health messages
If the Livepush feed is arriving but YouTube still shows offline, check the encoder’s audio and video output, its CPU load, and any messages in YouTube’s live dashboard. YouTube recommends using the latest encoder version and suggests trying another encoder as a diagnostic if the current encoder appears to be the problem (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting).

Health messages can point to configuration problems. For example, YouTube’s documentation discusses a closed GOP and insufficient incoming video for smooth streaming (YouTube live-stream health and troubleshooting guidance). Use the specific message shown in your dashboard to decide what to change rather than guessing at encoder settings.

6. Test outbound connectivity when the local output is healthy
If the encoder’s output looks and sounds healthy but delivery still fails, test the outbound internet connection. YouTube identifies connection problems as a possible cause and recommends testing connection strength and contacting your internet provider if a problem is found (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting).
If Wi-Fi instability is suspected, a temporary wired Ethernet test can help isolate the network link. A cable will not correct a wrong stream key, disabled destination, authorization problem, or encoder error.
7. Contact the support team that owns the failing link
- Livepush is not receiving the feed: review the encoder’s Livepush ingest settings and contact Livepush support if the incoming connection remains offline. Livepush’s destination guide offers live-chat support.
- The destination is enabled, but YouTube authorization through third-party software fails: YouTube says users who sign in to third-party software without a stream key should contact that software provider; it may need to update compatibility (YouTube live-stream troubleshooting).
- YouTube reports an event or stream error: use the message in Live Control Room and the relevant YouTube troubleshooting guidance when escalating.
Or let it run in the cloud
