Literally.dev vs Draft.dev: What $4,990 and $9,000 a Month Actually Buy

Literally.dev specifies 10 articles a month at $4,990; Draft.dev starts at $9,000 but does not publish a fixed article count for that price. Here’s what each offer says—and what to confirm.

Literally.dev lists a $4,990 monthly package with 10 articles and specified AI-visibility and placement elements. Draft.dev says its plans start at $9,000 per month, but its public pages do not fix the article count at that price. Both require an initial three-month commitment, so the $4,010 monthly gap is not a like-for-like value comparison until you have each provider’s dated scope and terms.

What each monthly retainer includes

Literally.dev: a defined 90-day sprint

Literally.dev calls its offer the 90-Day AI Recommendation Sprint. Its published package is $4,990 per month with a three-month minimum and specifies 10 articles per month written by engineers. It also lists a live AI-visibility dashboard and baseline, publishing and distribution, a guaranteed feature each month in a top technology publication and a major newsletter, a 90-minute marketing workshop, strategy sessions every two weeks, and remeasurement around day 85. See Literally.dev’s comparison page and its homepage.

Literally.dev says onboarding takes at most five days and that clients approve outlines and final drafts. It also says content performance may take about 90 days to show. Those are the company’s stated process and expectations, not independently measured service-level commitments. Its public description does not name the publication or newsletter outlets or fully define what counts as the guarantee’s “numbers move” threshold. Get the outlet, placement format, measurement method, and remedy for an unavailable placement in the contract.

Draft.dev: a broader program, with tier details to confirm

Draft.dev says plans start at $9,000 per month with an initial three-month minimum. Its public description includes developer content strategy, content creation and review, lead magnets, content refreshes, analysis and reporting, CMS publishing, distribution, and social media assets. It says it aims for a consistent weekly publishing cadence, with first pieces typically arriving within three weeks after kickoff. The stated success measures include content traffic, lead-magnet downloads, demo or trial signups, engagement, backlinks, and content-influenced leads. Draft.dev’s public pricing information does not state a fixed article count for the $9,000 starting price. Its onboarding information says scope and current pricing should be discussed with the company. Ask for the specific tier, monthly deliverables, staffing assumptions, and any add-ons in writing. Draft.dev also says it has a network of more than 300 engineer-writers and has served more than 100 technology-company clients; these are the company’s own scale claims, not independently verified comparisons.

How the advertised prices compare

Published offer Monthly price Initial minimum Publicly specified output
Literally.dev 90-Day AI Recommendation Sprint $4,990 per month Three months 10 articles per month, plus the listed dashboard, distribution, placements, workshop, strategy sessions, and remeasurement
Draft.dev plans Starting at $9,000 per month Three months Strategy, content creation and review, lead magnets, refreshes, publishing, distribution, social assets, and reporting; a fixed article count at the starting price is not stated on the reviewed public pages

The arithmetic difference between the advertised monthly figures is $4,010. At those prices, three months totals $14,970 for Literally.dev and $27,000 at Draft.dev’s stated starting price—a $12,030 difference before discounts, additional services, or negotiated terms. These calculations do not establish equivalent scope: Literally.dev names a monthly article count, while Draft.dev gives a weekly cadence without publishing a guaranteed count for its entry price.

How much confidence to place in results claims

Literally.dev’s pages cite AppSignal and QA.tech outcomes, including a 5× conversion comparison for AppSignal readers and a 4.4× increase in QA.tech mentions in AI search. Its comparison page also mentions a QA.tech Product Hunt result. These are vendor-presented case claims, not independent evidence that the services caused the outcomes or a forecast for another company. Before using them in a business case, ask for the measurement window, denominator, baseline, attribution model, and permission to speak with the customer.

Draft.dev’s reviewed official pages describe its measurement approach and client base, but do not provide a directly comparable outcome dataset for these two retainers. Neither provider’s stated metrics alone establish causal impact.

What to request before signing

  1. Ask each provider for a dated proposal. Have it itemize monthly deliverables, article or asset counts, staffing, publication cadence, distribution, and every add-on.
  2. Define placements and guarantees. For each promised feature, record the outlet, format, audience, timing, and remedy if it cannot be secured. For a performance guarantee, define the metric, baseline, measurement window, and what “movement” means.
  3. Agree on measurement before kickoff. Document the analytics sources, access, reporting schedule, attribution rules, and which outcomes are goals rather than guaranteed results.
  4. Review the full commercial terms. Confirm the three-month commitment, renewal and cancellation provisions, content ownership, confidentiality, revision limits, and any costs beyond the headline price.
  5. Validate relevant claims. Request references from clients with a comparable technical product and audience, and ask how the cited results were measured.

Prices, packages, staffing claims, and guarantees can change. Literally.dev’s comparison page says its Draft.dev check was made on 2026-08-28; confirm current pricing and scope directly with both companies before committing.
