The Linux Foundation’s 2026 Global Sponsorship prospectus lists five sponsorship tiers, with CNCF-member prices from $12,000 to $235,000 and non-member prices from $35,400 to $282,000 for the four standard tiers. Packages combine event branding and engagement benefits such as exhibit space, passes and lead retrieval, with some demo or speaking opportunities at higher tiers. The published contract deadline was January 14, 2026, so current availability and terms must be confirmed with the Foundation.

What is Linux Foundation Global Sponsorship?

It is a business-to-business event sponsorship package for organizations seeking visibility and engagement at Linux Foundation events—not an individual membership or consumer product. The Foundation describes intended benefits including brand recognition, thought leadership, recruiting, sales leads, product display, partnerships, media exposure and support for open source communities. The event page says 120,000 developers and technologists meet through its events globally, but gives no year or methodology; that figure should not be read as a 2026 attendance forecast. 2026 sponsorship tiers and listed prices

The prospectus distinguishes pricing by CNCF membership status at contract execution. These are the prices shown in the 2026 prospectus, not confirmation that a package remains available or that the terms are unchanged. 2026 Global Sponsorship Prospectus

Tier CNCF-member price Non-member price
Diamond $235,000 $282,000
Platinum $144,000 $172,800
Gold $84,000 $100,800
Silver $29,500 $35,400
Start-up/End User/Non-profit $12,000 Not applicable

The prospectus says the membership status at contract execution determines the applicable price. If membership lapses before the event, the Foundation may invoice the difference. Ask the sponsor team to confirm which category applies to your organization and the current amount due.

What benefits do the packages include?

Benefits depend on tier and availability. The prospectus describes a mix of branding, event presence and audience engagement, rather than a uniform bundle for every sponsor.

  • Brand exposure: sponsor logo placement and mentions, with promotional and media opportunities varying by tier.
  • Exhibit presence: exhibit space; the footprint and whether space is turnkey or raw depend on the package.
  • Conference access: included passes vary by tier.
  • Lead capture: lead-retrieval devices are included in some packages, with quantities tied to tier.
  • Program participation: selected demo sessions and speaking opportunities may be available. Speaking is subject to CFP criteria and program committee approval, not guaranteed by sponsorship.

Diamond availability is described as first-come, first-served. The prospectus also notes limits on some opportunities and reserves the ability to adjust benefits or quantities. Confirm the precise deliverables, event coverage and availability in the current agreement before committing.

Is sponsorship still available?

The prospectus says signed contracts must be received by January 14, 2026. That deadline has passed. The reviewed materials do not establish whether any 2026 inventory remains, whether late contracts are accepted, or whether the Foundation has issued revised terms. Contact the Linux Foundation sponsor team for current booking status, pricing, dates and a current agreement; do not treat the published prospectus as proof that a package can still be purchased.

How to assess whether a tier fits

Compare the package against the outcomes your organization can realistically use—not just its headline tier. Request written detail on:

  • Which events and dates the package covers, and whether space is still available.
  • Exhibit footprint, booth setup and any additional production requirements.
  • Included passes and lead-retrieval devices.
  • Specific logo, promotional, media and attendee-list benefits.
  • Whether demo or speaking opportunities are included, and their approval conditions.
  • How CNCF membership affects your price, including any consequences if membership changes.

For organizations primarily seeking ongoing visibility among developers through tools or services, the Foundation also has an Open Source Partner Program. It is separate from event sponsorship; the Foundation describes partner visibility, feedback and potential case-study or logo-licensing benefits for select partners. The page cites Akamai’s annual $1 million cloud-credit donation to CNCF projects as an example, not as a sponsorship price or standard partner benefit. Linux Foundation Open Source Partner Program

Lead data and attendee privacy

Event sponsorship may involve badge scanning and sponsor follow-up with attendees. The Foundation’s privacy explainer describes this context, but it was last updated October 11, 2018, so it should not be treated as current contract language or legal advice. Review the current sponsorship agreement and applicable data protection addendum to understand permitted use, retention, sharing and attendee consent. Linux Foundation event privacy information
