Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo sign into your LinkedIn account on a PC, open LinkedIn’s sign-in page and enter the email address or phone number and password linked to your account. On a phone, use the LinkedIn app or mobile sign-in page. LinkedIn may ask you to verify a sign-in on a new or unrecognized device, and eligible devices can use a passkey instead of a password.
Sign in to LinkedIn on a PC
- Open LinkedIn’s sign-in page.
- Enter the email address or phone number associated with your LinkedIn account, then enter your password.
- Select the sign-in button and complete any verification LinkedIn requests, such as entering a code or approving a prompt in the LinkedIn app.
LinkedIn documents SMS codes, authenticator apps, and app-based approval prompts for sign-ins. The step you see depends on your account’s security setup and the device or session you are using.

Sign in on a phone
- Open the LinkedIn app, or visit LinkedIn’s mobile sign-in page in a browser.
- Enter your account email address or phone number and password, unless you are using a passkey.
- If LinkedIn requests a code or an approval, check the configured method. For an in-app approval, open the LinkedIn app on a device where you are already signed in.
A verification prompt is a security check, not a request to share your password. Approve only a sign-in you started.

| Method | What you need | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| SMS | Access to the phone number configured for the account | Receive and enter a verification code. |
| Authenticator app | Access to the authenticator app set up for the account | Retrieve and enter the app’s code. |
| LinkedIn app approval | A LinkedIn app session already signed in | Review and approve or deny the sign-in prompt. |
| Passkey | A supported device and access to where the passkey is stored | Authenticate without entering the account password; LinkedIn also documents QR-code use across devices. |
LinkedIn encourages members to turn on two-factor authentication and recommends the authenticator-app option in its Two-factor authentication overview. This is LinkedIn’s guidance, not an independent comparison of methods.
Use a passkey if it is available for your account
A passkey can replace password entry on supported devices. LinkedIn’s instructions describe setting one up in account settings and using a QR code to authenticate across devices. Availability depends on device support and where the passkey is stored; not every account or device necessarily has the same options. Follow LinkedIn’s passkey setup and sign-in instructions for the current steps.

Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, select Forgot password?
- Enter an email address or phone number associated with your account and request the verification code.
- Use the code sent through the available recovery route and follow the prompts to set a new password.
- Complete any additional two-factor authentication or security check LinkedIn presents.
LinkedIn’s password reset instructions describe this process. A reset code verifies access to a recovery route; it does not guarantee that no other security check will be required.

If you get an unexpected sign-in prompt
Do not approve an app prompt or enter a code for a sign-in you did not start. If the prompt offers No, it’s not me, choose it. LinkedIn says this denies the attempt and prompts you to change your password. Afterward, follow the account’s security steps and use a password you do not reuse elsewhere. See LinkedIn’s two-factor guidance.

If you no longer have your verification phone or app
You still have LinkedIn open on another device
Use that active session to open your account settings and change your two-factor authentication method. LinkedIn’s recovery guidance for a lost mobile device describes using an existing signed-in session to turn off two-factor authentication.
You are signed out everywhere
Follow LinkedIn’s account recovery process. It may ask you to verify your identity; one desktop route uses a phone to scan a QR code and continue the check. LinkedIn’s instructions mention government-issued identification and note that accepted documents can vary by country. Recovery is not guaranteed, and the process does not establish a fixed completion time. See LinkedIn’s identity verification instructions.
