Can you use LibreOffice without internet?
LibreOffice’s local installation makes it the clearest fit of the three when you want a desktop suite that does not depend on a web session simply to launch. Microsoft Support’s home-account guidance applies to Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps when you are signed in with a Microsoft account. Microsoft says Copilot uses the file you are working on or files you ask it to inspect, and that prompts, responses, and file contents used with Copilot in those apps are not used to train foundation models.

Microsoft also says the “Experiences that analyze content” and “All connected experiences” settings affect Copilot availability. Turning either setting off disables Copilot features in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote in the app versions covered by that guidance. This is Microsoft describing its service; it is not an independent privacy assessment.
Microsoft 365 for organizations
Microsoft’s organizational Copilot documentation describes a different account context. It says Copilot works with Microsoft Graph content the user has permission to access; prompts, responses, and accessed Graph data are not used to train foundation models. Microsoft says interaction records are stored in line with the organization’s contractual commitments. An organization’s configuration and applicable contract matter, so do not assume the home-account explanation answers questions about a managed account.

Does Google Gemini use your Workspace files?
Google’s Gemini Apps Privacy Hub supplements Google’s Privacy Policy for signed-in interactions with Gemini Apps and lists prompts and shared files among information users provide. That describes Gemini Apps; it should not automatically be treated as a full account of every Gemini feature in Workspace.
Google Docs Editors Help separately covers Gemini in Workspace apps and warns that certain cases involving sharing Workspace data through personal-account features may fall under the destination services’ terms and policies. Which suite is the better fit?
Pick LibreOffice when local desktop use is the priority
