The Levoit LV600S is a capable hybrid ultrasonic humidifier with both cool and warm mist, app-based controls, and automatic humidity regulation. Its strongest case is humidification capacity: RTINGS measured up to 9.0 L/day in warm-mist testing. The main trade-offs are shorter runtime than Levoit advertises, substantially higher energy use in warm-mist testing, and a design that takes effort to clean.
What the Levoit LV600S offers
The LV600S is a 6 L (1.58 gal) hybrid ultrasonic humidifier. Levoit lists maximum output of 300 mL/h for cool mist and 550 mL/h for warm mist, rated power of 280 W, and dimensions of 11.6 × 7.7 × 11.3 inches on its US product page. The US manual identifies the series as model LUH-A602S-WUS.

Levoit advertises coverage of up to 753 ft² and up to 50 hours of operation at the lowest mist setting. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements of performance in every room or at every setting.

In its review, published November 22, 2024 and modified September 10, 2026, RTINGS measured 17 hours of runtime and a 5.5 L usable tank capacity. That is notably less runtime than Levoit’s advertised maximum, but the figures come from different sources and settings or test conditions may differ; they are not a direct like-for-like test.
RTINGS measured humidification capacity of 7.9 L/day in its cool-mist test and 9.0 L/day in its warm-mist test. These results support the LV600S’s strong-output reputation, but a daily test figure does not guarantee the same result in a particular room. Room layout, ventilation, starting humidity, and selected setting all affect what a user experiences.

Does the LV600S have warm and cool mist?
Yes. You can choose cool mist or warm mist, and the tested output was higher in warm mode. The choice also affects energy use and noise, so it is not simply a temperature preference.

Those are test-method results, not a universal estimate of electricity cost: actual cost depends on operating time, mode, local electricity rates, and the test conditions. If minimizing energy use matters, cool mist is the more prudent default based on those measurements.

How noisy is the Levoit LV600S?
RTINGS measured 31.5 dBA at the lowest cool-mist setting and 32.0 dBA at the highest cool-mist setting. At the highest warm-mist setting, it measured 38.7 dBA. In other words, the measured cool-mist settings were close to one another, while high warm-mist operation was louder. These measurements describe the tested modes and conditions, not every room or placement.
Is the LV600S easy to clean?
No: cleaning is one of its clearest drawbacks. RTINGS says multiple parts need hand cleaning and some areas are difficult to reach. TechGearLab’s August 19, 2025 comparison likewise rated cleaning, ease of use, noise, and operating cost less favorably than humidification, while describing the unit as effective for large rooms and noting that it could be easier to clean.

That matters because a humidifier’s usefulness depends on whether you will keep up with the manufacturer’s care instructions. The product page lists included water-filter sponges, absorption pads, and a cleaning brush, but included accessories do not remove the need to reach and clean the relevant parts. Consult the US LV600S manual for the care instructions for your model.
Who should buy the Levoit LV600S?
The LV600S is a good fit if you want both mist temperatures, app and voice control, automatic humidity regulation, and strong measured humidification capacity. It is less compelling if you prioritize long measured runtime, low warm-mode energy use, or quick, uncomplicated cleaning.

- Refill frequency: RTINGS measured 17 hours of runtime, rather than the advertised maximum of up to 50 hours.
- Mode choice: Warm mist produced higher measured humidification capacity, but also much higher measured energy consumption and noise at the highest setting.
- Maintenance: Independent reviews identify cleaning access as a weakness.
- Smart features: App, automatic, and voice controls are useful only if you want to manage a humidifier that way.
Levoit’s US product page listed the unit at $109.99 with a two-year limited warranty when reviewed; price and purchase terms can change, so check the current listing before buying. TechGearLab also characterized the LV600S as relatively expensive in its 2025 comparison.
