Leus says its new cohort-purchasing service lets mobile-game publishers receive cash upfront by licensing the future revenue rights to selected install-week cohorts. The studio keeps operating its game and receives store payments as usual, then passes through revenue from the sold cohorts under the agreement. Leus calls the model the world’s first cohort-purchasing service, but that market-first claim has not been independently established.
What cohort purchasing means
Leus defines a cohort as installs for one app during one week. Rather than buying the game or lending against it, Leus says it purchases a licence to the future revenue rights associated with selected cohorts. The studio chooses which cohorts to sell; the service is intended for mobile-game publishers seeking an upfront payment for revenue they would otherwise collect over time.
The company says it observes a cohort’s revenue so far, forecasts its remaining revenue week by week until saturation, and prices that future revenue today with adjustments for forecast risk and timing. Saturation matters: under Leus’s description, once a cohort reaches that point, subsequent earnings from it go back to the studio. The signed agreement—not a general product description—determines the rights actually transferred and how saturation is defined.
How Leus says the process works
- Share initial information: Sign a non-disclosure agreement and connect read-only mobile measurement partner (MMP) and store reports.
- Check eligibility: Leus says it provides an eligibility report, then validates company and owner information.
- Submit financial information: The studio supplies the requested financial details.
- Select cohorts and review a price: The studio chooses cohorts to offer and reviews Leus’s proposed payment.
- Sign and receive the transfer: If the studio accepts the terms, it signs the agreement and receives the funds.
Leus’s product page describes a two-day process; that is the provider’s stated timeline, not an independently measured service guarantee. Leus says cohorts can be assessed weekly once mature enough to price. The newest cohorts may be too volatile; the company says it prices them the following week after installs have stopped.

PocketGamer.biz reported at launch that Leus uses historical cohort data and back-test forecasting, projects performance for up to 52 weeks, and can evaluate an unsaturated cohort as early as day seven. Those timing and forecast-horizon details are Leus’s claims as reported by the outlet, not independently verified performance results.
What happens to revenue, rights, and risk
According to Leus, app stores continue paying the studio as usual, and the studio passes through revenue from sold cohorts to Leus weekly. Leus characterizes this as a licence of cohort revenue rights—not a loan or an advance on advertising spend. It says the studio retains its game, intellectual property, store accounts, operations, and cap table.

Leus says it bears the risk if a sold cohort earns less than forecast, store payments arrive late, or the game leaves the store. It identifies fraud or breach of agreement as exceptions. How to assess an offer
An upfront offer is not directly comparable to a cohort’s forecast revenue unless the timing, transferred rights, and risk are considered. For example, Mobidictum frames the choice as receiving $150,000 over the next 52 weeks or $140,000 today. It also gives a hypothetical where $100,000 in user-acquisition spending is forecast to produce $150,000 by week 52, with a possible $140,000 upfront offer. These are illustrative examples, not published Leus pricing, market statistics, or evidence of completed transactions.

- Compare cash flows: Set the upfront payment against the cohort revenue the studio expects to retain by waiting, accounting for when that money would arrive.
- Test the valuation: Understand how cohort maturity, forecast uncertainty, and the time value of money affect the offer.
- Read the rights and term: Identify exactly which revenue streams and period are licensed, and how the contract defines saturation.
- Map the risk allocation: Check which underperformance, payment-delay, or delisting risks transfer and which contractual exceptions remain with the studio.
- Confirm operational eligibility: Ask whether the studio’s MMP and store reports, jurisdiction, and company documentation meet Leus’s actual requirements.
Leus’s product page claims “98% forecast accuracy on mature cohorts.” That is a vendor-reported figure; the public material reviewed here does not provide its methodology, sample size, independent audit, or definition of accuracy. It should not be treated as a guarantee for an individual cohort.

Leus says it assesses cohorts using MMP and store reports. Its partners page lists Adjust as an official module and strategy partner and AppsFlyer as an analytics partner, alongside Adapty, Potensus, Fal, and MWC ecosystem offers. The listed relationships do not establish that a specific vendor is required or suitable for every studio.

The public materials reviewed do not spell out every eligible country, app store, or publisher profile, nor do they provide independently validated forecast performance or transaction outcomes. Leus co-founder and managing director Halil Özdemir put the premise this way in a statement reported by PocketGamer.biz: “If a cohort has a measurable future economic value, why should the founder need to borrow against it? Why not simply sell it?” For a publisher considering that choice, the governing agreement and a clear cohort-level calculation matter more than the product label.
