LEGO’s three newly announced Batman sets take very different approaches: a Joker comic-cover wall display, a Batman Returns Batmobile paired with a duck vehicle, and an Arkham-themed Batmobile. In the U.S., their announced prices run from $29.99 to $169.99, and Gizmodo reports a January 1, 2027 release date. Choose based on whether you want wall art, a playful character-and-vehicle set, or a compact game-inspired car.
What are the three new LEGO Batman sets?
The “cute, cool, or terrifying” framing is an editorial shorthand, not an official LEGO rating. The practical distinction is simpler: one is wall art, while the other two are vehicle builds. Here are the reported U.S. prices and specifications; LEGO’s U.S. catalog currently lists the two vehicles as new and coming soon.

Which set should you choose?
Choose Joker Wall Art Comic Cover for a dramatic display
At $169.99 U.S. and 1,849 pieces, the Joker set is the largest and most expensive of the three by the reported figures. It is designed as layered wall art based on the cover of Detective Comics #880, rather than as a vehicle or playset. Gizmodo says the press release described eyes and facial features projecting from the surface, with details set into deeper layers. It is the natural pick for an adult display build or a fan of that comic-cover design.

- BATMAN GIFT FOR MEN & WOMEN – Makes a perfect Batman gift for men, women and adult fans who love collectible Batman toys, and can be built over 24 days as a Batman Advent calendar
Choose Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck for the playful pairing
This $59.99 U.S. set combines the Batman Returns Batmobile with a duck vehicle and a Penguin minifigure. That unusual pairing makes it the playful, “cute” choice in the headline’s framing. At 672 pieces, it offers a character-and-vehicle combination without the wall-display format or price of the Joker set.
Choose Arkham Batman Batmobile for the lowest-cost car build
The Arkham Batman Batmobile is the least expensive option at $29.99 U.S., with 317 pieces and reported 9+ age guidance. It is the compact choice if the Arkham game look is the main attraction and you want a Batmobile build rather than wall art or the Batman Returns duck pairing.

How do price, size, and age guidance compare?
The announced U.S. price spread is $29.99 to $169.99, and the reported piece counts range from 317 to 1,849. The Joker wall art costs substantially more and has the highest piece count, but piece count alone does not establish build time, difficulty, or quality. The age guidance reported for the announcement is 18+ for the Joker display and 9+ for both vehicles; check the final box or current product page for the definitive age recommendation.
Release timing and preorder details
Gizmodo reported that all three sets would go on sale January 1, 2027. Its October 5, 2026 article said preorders were open for the Joker wall-art set. Because release timing, preorder availability, and stock can change, confirm the current status with LEGO or the retailer before making plans.

The report also described a New York Comic Con-specific offer: an on-site preorder would include a reprint of Detective Comics #880 with LEGO-inspired cover art, with cover artist Jock signing at the DC booth on Thursday, October 8, starting at 11 a.m. That was an event offer, not a standard preorder bonus, and should not be assumed available outside that event.
