Choose the LEGO PlayStation 72306 if your priority is the original Sony console in a near-life-size display model, with a plug-in controller and small game-inspired details. Pick another set if you would rather display a console with a TV, an Atari scene, a handheld, or a model that can represent either a Genesis or Mega Drive. None of these builds is a working game system.
What the LEGO PlayStation 72306 includes
The 18+ LEGO PlayStation is a 1,911-piece model of the original console, designed at near 1:1 scale. LEGO lists its dimensions as 6 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 19 cm deep, so allow for that footprint on a shelf before buying. The controller plugs into the console, and the power and open buttons have functional-style movement. Removable dioramas draw on Ape Escape and Gran Turismo; these are display details, not playable games. LEGO PlayStation 72306 product page.

Which set should you choose?
Choose PlayStation for a near-life-size original console
This is the direct pick for someone whose main attachment is to the original PlayStation and who wants a substantial console-shaped shelf model. The 26 cm width and 19 cm depth make the footprint concrete; its extras are integrated details rather than a larger room scene.
Choose NES for a console-and-TV display
The NES combines the console, controller and cartridge with a television whose screen scrolls through a Mario display. It suits a buyer who wants a recognizable gaming scene rather than a single console model. LEGO’s US page marks it retired, so availability may depend on remaining seller stock or the resale market.

- Light Accessories Only: BrickSoul LED light kit is designed for the LEGO PlayStation 72306 building set; lighting and touch-control components only are included, and the brick model is sold separately
- Layered Retro Gaming Lighting: Color-changing illumination adds depth to the gray console and original-style controller while drawing attention to the disc lid, front controls and hidden diorama areas. The shifting accent color turns the near 1:1 display into a stronger game-room centerpiece without losing the clean retro-console look.
- Touch Color-Changing Control: Use the touch area for power and color changes, then double-tap to cycle through multiple lighting effects. Press and hold to fine-tune pattern speed and brightness, from a steady retro-console glow to a more dynamic game-room scene.
- Easy Installation with Online Guides: Numbered light packs, slim wiring, and online video and PDF instructions help keep installation clear and cable placement neat around the console and controller; power with the included battery box, a compatible power bank, or a 5V USB adapter; batteries not included
- 1-Year Replacement Support: Made for retro gaming fans, collectors, and display builders who want to upgrade their 72306 console display; contact us through Amazon messages for installation help or product support
Choose Atari 2600 for cartridges and hidden details
The Atari build adds a joystick, three cartridges, game scenes and a hidden 1980s room. It is the option to consider if those surrounding details matter more than a near-1:1 single-console presentation. LEGO’s US page marks it retired.
Choose Game Boy for a handheld-shaped display
At 421 pieces, the Game Boy is a compact handheld-format alternative with swappable display elements. Its 421-piece count and near-1:1 description come from LEGO’s product page; the sources do not provide directly comparable dimensions for all five sets, so there is no sound basis here for ranking every model by shelf footprint.

Choose SEGA for Genesis or Mega Drive flexibility
The SEGA set offers two console configurations, Genesis and Mega Drive, making it a natural choice for fans of either regional name and design. LEGO’s page lists the product, but its description and headline disagree on piece count; compare configuration and current price rather than relying on a count.
