LEGO Insiders is a free loyalty programme for adults aged 18 and over. You earn points from eligible LEGO purchases, selected activities and registering qualifying sets, then exchange them for checkout discounts or catalogue rewards. The exact earning rate, participating shops, reward inventory and redemption rules depend on your account region, so the United States figures below are a worked example rather than a worldwide conversion.
For a US account, LEGO’s current table lists 6.5 points per US dollar and 650 points for a US$5 discount. LEGO help pages checked on 13 October 2026 also state that points expire after 18 months without account activity, while an issued reward code is valid for 60 days.

What LEGO Insiders is and who can join
LEGO Insiders replaced the LEGO VIP programme in 2023; LEGO’s corporate announcement on 21 August 2023 said valid VIP points moved into the new programme. Membership costs nothing, but the programme is intended for adults aged 18 or older. Your account region controls the currency table, available rewards and some store rules.

Do not assume that every shop selling LEGO is an Insiders partner. LEGO’s UK help guidance, for example, says LEGO Certified Stores marked with a yellow flag do not allow members to earn or redeem points. Check the store listing and your local LEGO account before treating a purchase as qualifying. A purchase through a third-party marketplace is not automatically eligible unless LEGO identifies that seller or location as a participating partner.

How to earn LEGO Insiders points
Buy from LEGO’s eligible channels
LEGO lists points on eligible purchases made through LEGO.com and participating LEGO Stores. Some regional help pages also identify participating partner locations. Eligibility, exclusions and posting times can differ, so keep the receipt and verify the shop before relying on a planned points total.
For a US account, LEGO says online and in-store purchase points normally appear within 24–48 hours. An order shipped to another country can be charged and earn according to the destination currency’s rate, rather than the rate you expected from your home country.
Complete selected activities
LEGO sometimes offers engagement activities that award points. These can include actions presented in the Insiders area rather than purchases. Availability is campaign- and region-dependent; use the live activities shown after signing in instead of assuming an activity advertised in another country is available to you.

Register an eligible set
Qualifying LEGO building instructions can contain a QR code for set registration. Scanning that code while signed into Insiders earns 20 points for the set. The award can be claimed once for each qualifying set, although additional copies of the same set may each be registered. A set without the required QR code cannot generate this registration award, and LEGO limits the programme to adult members.
- Sign in to your LEGO Insiders account.
- Open the set-registration feature in the Insiders area.
- Scan the QR code printed in the eligible set’s building instructions.
- Confirm the set details and submit the registration.
- Check your points activity later if the 20-point award does not appear immediately.
What the points are worth
Points do not have one universal cash value. LEGO publishes a separate points table for each currency, and those tables can change. The current examples below come from LEGO’s official help pages; the US rate is the main worked example.

With the US rate, a US$100 eligible purchase would generate 650 points before any account-specific exclusions or adjustments. That balance corresponds to the listed US$5 discount tier. Treat this as an illustration of LEGO’s published table, not a promise that every order, tax treatment or promotion will calculate identically.

Use the points and currency shown in your own Insiders account when deciding whether a reward is worthwhile. Converting a US example into pounds, euros or Canadian dollars produces the wrong answer because the regional exchange ratios are intentionally different.

Set registration is separate from earning points on the purchase. Buying a set does not by itself guarantee the registration bonus; the set must have the qualifying QR code in its instructions and the QR process must be completed in an adult Insiders account.
- One award per set: the same physical set cannot generate the registration bonus repeatedly.
- Duplicate copies: each additional qualifying copy may be registered separately.
- QR requirement: without the qualifying code in the instructions, the registration route is unavailable.
- Posting: allow time for the activity to appear in your account before contacting support.
What you can redeem
Checkout discounts
A discount reward reduces the total of a qualifying LEGO order at checkout. The number of points required is fixed by your region’s reward listing, not by a universal global formula. Select the discount in the Rewards Center, add it to the order and apply it during checkout as directed.

Physical rewards
The catalogue can include items such as LEGO sets, posters and keychains. A physical reward is added to an order and is subject to stock. Putting it in your bag does not reserve it; another customer can take the available inventory before you complete checkout. Point costs, countries served and shipping conditions are shown in the live Rewards Center.
Digital rewards and experiences
Digital downloads, sweepstakes entries, tickets and events may also appear where offered. Digital downloads and similar items can be redeemed directly from the Rewards Center rather than being attached to a merchandise order. Experiences and sweepstakes are especially likely to have local eligibility, closing dates or limited capacity, so read the individual listing before spending points.
Redeeming a reward: the exact workflow
- Sign in to the Insiders account whose points you intend to spend.
- Open the Rewards Center and confirm the item’s point cost, country availability and stock status.
- Choose the reward and follow the redemption prompt.
- For a physical item or promotional code, add the reward during checkout and complete the associated order.
- For a digital reward, follow the direct download or claim instructions shown after redemption.
- Save the confirmation email or code until the reward has been used successfully.
LEGO’s help page says you can add up to three rewards to one order, but only one reward code can be used per order. A coded reward cannot be redeemed without placing an order. Those limits apply to the checkout workflow; a digital reward that is delivered directly from the Rewards Center follows its own listing instructions.

When points and reward codes expire
Points: an 18-month inactivity rule
LEGO says points expire only after 18 months with no activity on the account. Earning points or redeeming them resets the clock for another 18 months. LEGO says it will email the address on the account as expiration approaches, so keep that address current and check spam folders for notices.
Reward codes: a separate 60-day deadline
A redeemed code has its own timer. LEGO’s US troubleshooting guidance says a reward code is valid for 60 days. Spending or earning points may protect the underlying balance, but it does not extend an already-issued code beyond its stated validity period. Use the code in an eligible order before the deadline printed in your account or message.

If you have a near-term LEGO order, a checkout discount is the simplest way to use a balance. If you want a particular collectible, check stock first and redeem only when you can complete the order. For a digital item, compare its listed point cost with the value you would otherwise get from a discount in your region.
Troubleshooting missing points or a rejected reward
Purchase points have not appeared
- Allow the stated 24–48-hour posting window for eligible US online or in-store purchases.
- Confirm that you used the same email and Insiders account at checkout.
- Check that the seller or store is listed as a participating location.
- Review your account region and the currency used for the order.
- Keep the order number or receipt before contacting LEGO support.
A set-registration bonus is missing
- Verify that the instructions include the qualifying QR code.
- Make sure you are signed into an adult account.
- Check whether that exact copy was already registered.
- Rescan the code from the original instructions rather than a photocopy or an online image.
A reward code will not work
- Check that the code is within its 60-day validity period.
- Sign out and back in to confirm you are using the account that redeemed it.
- Shop in the region that matches the account and reward.
- Confirm that the order contains the required purchase and that only one reward code is being applied.
- Check the Rewards Center for current stock or availability; a listing can disappear when inventory or an event closes.
A practical way to manage your account
- Before buying, verify the retailer, store and account region rather than assuming that a LEGO-branded display qualifies.
- After buying, wait for the normal posting window and record the order in case support needs proof.
- Register qualifying sets soon after opening them so the QR code and instructions are easy to locate.
- Review the Rewards Center before points approach 18 months of inactivity.
- Redeem a code only when you are ready to place the required order within its validity window.
- Recheck the live point table each time you plan a large purchase or redemption because rates and catalogue stock can change.
LEGO Insiders is therefore best viewed as a regional points ledger, not a fixed cash-back percentage. The US table gives a clear benchmark, but your account’s current currency table and Rewards Center determine what your points can actually buy.
