Later July coverage attributed to OnLeaks added four alleged colorways—Obsidian, Porcelain, Hazel and Rose—and showed a flat back, matte metal frame and centered hole-punch selfie camera. These images were unofficial renders, not confirmed Google product photographs or specifications.
What the first Pixel 9 Pro renders showed
On January 23, 2024, Android Authority reported an early look at the Pixel 9 Pro, crediting trusted leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) and MySmartPrice. Android Central described the same material as a MySmartPrice–OnLeaks collaboration. The leak appeared roughly nine months before the launch expected at that time.

The most noticeable design change was a move toward flatter side rails. The rear camera treatment also appeared different from the Pixel 8 Pro: instead of a bar that visibly blends into the frame, the render depicted a more distinct, updated camera island. Because the images were leak-based computer renders, the shape and finish should be read as alleged design direction rather than a confirmed final build.
The disputed size claim
Android Authority relayed a claimed 6.5-inch display and dimensions of 162.7 × 76.6 × 8.5 mm. The publication itself questioned those figures: the reported body dimensions were close to the Pixel 8 Pro’s overall size even though the alleged screen was smaller. That apparent mismatch is a warning that the early measurements may have been inaccurate, incomplete or based on a different interpretation of the render.

How the later render coverage expanded the picture
On July 25, 2024, Android Authority covered higher-resolution renders attributed to OnLeaks through Android Headlines. This later set provided more visible finish and color information, but it remained leaked material and should not be treated as proof that every detail reached the retail device.

Alleged Pixel 9 Pro color options
Obsidian
Obsidian was shown as the dark, neutral option in the later render set. The name indicates Google’s established dark color naming, but the render alone cannot establish the exact shade, coating or material used on a shipping phone.

Porcelain
Porcelain represented the light finish. Rendered whites can vary substantially with lighting and display settings, so the images do not prove the final hue or whether the retail panel would use the same surface treatment.
Hazel
Hazel was the muted greenish or gray-green choice depicted in the leaked lineup. Its appearance in renders indicates a proposed color label, not confirmed regional availability.

Rose
Rose added a warmer pink-toned option to the reported palette. The leak does not establish whether every market would receive it, nor whether the name would remain unchanged at launch.
What the renders do—and do not—confirm
- They do suggest: a flatter side profile, a revised camera-island design, a flat rear panel, a matte-looking metal frame and a centered front-camera cutout in the later images.
- They do not confirm: final dimensions, display size, camera sensors, materials, durability, software features, price, launch timing or color availability by country.
- The measurements remain especially uncertain: the January report’s claimed 6.5-inch display did not align neatly with the reported body dimensions, and the publisher advised caution.
Android Authority summarized the appropriate standard for leaks: “As usual, this is a reminder to take leaks like this with a grain of salt, as you never know what could be incorrect.”

Should you treat the leaked design as the final Pixel 9 Pro?
No. The two render reports are useful for tracking how the alleged design was portrayed months before launch, but neither establishes an official specification. The July images add resolution and color names; they do not retroactively validate the January measurements or guarantee that every visible contour survived development.

The device at the center of the story is the Google Pixel 9 Pro. A Google Store page checked for this coverage redirected to the general US phones category rather than confirming a current Pixel 9 Pro listing, price or stock. Availability, retailer listings and accessory compatibility change over time, so verify a live listing in your country before buying. A case or screen protector should be selected only after checking that it is specifically labeled for the Pixel 9 Pro; leaked renders alone do not prove fit.
