For a scheduled YouTube Live event built from a finished video, Streamlabs Talk Studio is the clearer documented fit. Its scheduling workflow lets you choose “Pre-recorded video,” upload a file and schedule the event. Larix Broadcaster is documented as a mobile encoder for sending a live camera feed; the reviewed official materials do not establish a built-in workflow for scheduling a prerecorded file. That difference is about documented workflows, not proof that no workaround exists.
Which app fits your source?
| What you need | Streamlabs Talk Studio | Larix Broadcaster |
|---|---|---|
| Schedule a prerecorded file | Documented: select “Pre-recorded video,” upload the file, add event details and schedule it. Streamlabs Support | No built-in prerecorded-file scheduling workflow is established by the reviewed official materials. Larix is described as a mobile live encoder. Google Play listing |
| Send a live phone-camera feed | Not the distinguishing use case in the cited prerecorded scheduling guide. | A core fit: capture and stream live from a mobile device using supported streaming protocols. Google Play listing |
| Create a scheduled YouTube event | The scheduling guide documents YouTube as a destination and says it creates an event link. | Create or schedule the event in YouTube Studio; Larix sends the encoder feed using YouTube’s server URL and stream key. YouTube Help |
| Documented limits for this workflow | 5 GB maximum file size; Standard duration up to 1 hour; Pro and Ultra duration up to 2 hours. Custom RTMP destinations are not supported for this scheduling feature. Limits and plan labels may change. | Prerecorded-file scheduling limits are not stated in the reviewed official materials. |
Use Talk Studio when the input is an already-recorded video and you want the software’s documented scheduling flow. Use Larix when you are broadcasting live from a phone. Do not treat Larix’s live-encoder role as evidence of a native prerecorded-file scheduler.
How to schedule a prerecorded video with Talk Studio
- Open Talk Studio’s scheduling area and add a scheduled stream.
- Choose the destination or destinations for the broadcast.
- Select “Pre-recorded video” and upload the finished video.
- Enter the event title, description, date and time, and thumbnail.
- Schedule the broadcast. Streamlabs says a YouTube event link is created for promotion.
Before planning around a long video, check the current Talk Studio plan and limits. Streamlabs Support’s scheduling article, last updated April 25, 2025, lists a 5 GB maximum file size, a one-hour maximum on Standard, and a two-hour maximum on Pro or Ultra. It also says custom RTMP is unsupported in this scheduling flow. Check the Streamlabs scheduling guidance; its limits and labels are subject to change.
How Larix works with a scheduled YouTube stream
This is the encoder workflow for a live camera feed, not a documented way to play a finished file from Larix. YouTube creates and manages the event; Larix sends the live video to it.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy YouTube’s server URL and stream key into the corresponding destination settings in Larix. Keep the stream key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your event.
- Start Larix’s encoder and wait for YouTube’s preview to appear in the Live Control Room.
- For a scheduled encoder stream, click “Go live” in YouTube when the preview is ready. Scheduling the event and starting the broadcast are separate actions in this workflow.
YouTube says first-time activation of live streaming may take up to 24 hours, so enable it ahead of the event rather than assuming a new channel can stream immediately. Follow YouTube’s current encoder setup instructions for the stream URL, key and event controls.
Copyright and channel checks before scheduling
- Use video and audio you own or have permission to broadcast. A prerecorded file is still subject to YouTube’s copyright rules; scheduling it does not grant rights to its music, footage or other material.
- Review YouTube’s current live-streaming and channel policies before the event, especially if your channel has restrictions or you are using licensed material.
- Do not assume that a scheduled event is already broadcasting: confirm the event is set up, the correct video or encoder feed is selected, and the broadcast has actually started.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube stream, rather than send a live phone-camera feed, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer or home connection staying on. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with no re-encode or quality tiers, and can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; it is one free day per account. Monthly billing is $9.99 per month.

Common problems and what to check
- Talk Studio does not accept the video: Check the file size against the documented 5 GB maximum, then verify the current plan’s duration limit and supported requirements in Streamlabs Support.
- You need a custom RTMP destination for the scheduled prerecorded flow: Streamlabs says custom RTMP is not supported for this scheduling feature. Its documented match here is the supported destination workflow, not a custom RTMP route.
- YouTube shows no encoder preview: Confirm the server URL and stream key were copied correctly, the encoder is running, and the scheduled event is the one whose settings you used. Do not share the key publicly.
- The event is scheduled but viewers cannot watch yet: In the YouTube encoder workflow, scheduling is not the same as starting the broadcast. Wait for the preview and use “Go live” in the Live Control Room.
- Live streaming is unavailable on a newly enabled channel: YouTube says first activation may take up to 24 hours; enable it well before the planned start.
- You want to stream a prerecorded file from Larix: The reviewed official materials do not establish that workflow. Use Talk Studio’s documented prerecorded scheduling option, or choose a method specifically designed to play uploaded videos as a YouTube stream.
