The available evidence does not show that one platform produces a better stream overall; your phone, network, audio setup, and the Larix features you need matter more.
What differs between Larix on iPhone and Android?
Both versions are options for sending an encoder feed to YouTube Live, but their published feature lists are not identical. These are publisher-listed capabilities, not independent tests, and they do not establish equal support for every feature on each platform.

- Check the specific feature: If you need a protocol, codec, adaptive bitrate, multistreaming, or watermark removal, verify its availability and any Premium conditions in the current Larix listing for your operating system.
- Check your exact hardware: Phone model, OS version, microphone or audio interface, cables, and mount can affect what your setup supports. The available sources do not compare device compatibility or sustained upload performance across phones.

Set up Larix Broadcaster for YouTube Live
- Create or select the YouTube stream. In YouTube Studio, open Create → Go live and use the Live Control Room to create or select the stream. Returning creators may see prior stream settings, including a stream key, load again.
- Copy the connection details. In the selected stream’s settings, get the YouTube Live server URL and stream key. YouTube requires these encoder connection details.
- Enter them in Larix. Set the YouTube server URL and stream key as Larix’s destination. Softvelum’s setup guidance calls for video-plus-audio mode and an appropriate bitrate; it does not establish one bitrate that is right for every phone, resolution, or network.
- Check the preview and audio. Confirm that YouTube receives the picture and sound before sharing the stream with viewers. If using an external microphone, audio interface, or headset, check that the phone and Larix are using the intended audio input.
- Start the broadcast. Begin streaming from Larix and verify the live state in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
Prepare the phone and the stream
Picture and sound
For a fixed shot, an optional compatible phone mount can help keep framing steady. For speech-focused events, an external microphone may improve capture, but confirm that it works with your phone’s ports and audio route. These are general setup considerations, not tested accessory recommendations. YouTube’s encoder guidance gives microphone hardware as a typical example; an App Store review dated May 27, 2025 describes one user’s audio interface and tripod setup, which is anecdotal rather than a product test.
Bitrate and connection
Use a bitrate appropriate to your chosen video settings and the upload capacity of the connection. The referenced setup guidance advises setting an appropriate bitrate but does not provide a universal number. Check the YouTube preview for dropped or degraded video, and test at the actual venue and network conditions before an important broadcast.

Stream key security
Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or show it on camera. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update Larix with the new key before the next broadcast.

Content rights and channel rules
Before streaming music, video, or other material you did not create, make sure you have the rights and permissions needed for a public live broadcast. A successful encoder connection does not establish that content is permitted under YouTube’s copyright rules or channel policies. Check YouTube’s current rules for copyright and reused content, particularly if your stream relies on prerecorded or third-party material.

Troubleshooting common setup problems
