Larix Broadcaster can send video and audio to a YouTube livestream you scheduled in advance. Select that event’s stream URL and key in Larix, start sending, then—unless the event uses encoder auto-start—wait for its preview in YouTube Live Control Room and click Go live. Scheduling the event and sending the feed do not, by themselves, put it live.
What you need before connecting
- A YouTube channel eligible to livestream. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until event day. YouTube’s live-streaming tips explain the eligibility and preparation guidance.
- A scheduled event in YouTube Studio, plus its current stream URL and stream key.
- Larix Broadcaster configured to publish using RTMP or RTMPS. Larix’s Android documentation lists H.264/AVC video, AAC audio, and RTMP/RTMPS publishing; compatible operation can still depend on the device, selected encoding, network, and event configuration. See Larix Broadcaster for Android.
You do not need a phone tripod or mount to connect; those are optional aids for positioning a phone, not compatibility requirements.

Connect Larix to the scheduled event
- Create or open the event: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live, then open Manage to schedule a stream or choose an existing scheduled event. YouTube lets you create an event or reuse prior settings. See Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
- Copy the event’s credentials: Open that event’s stream settings and copy the stream URL and stream key shown by YouTube. Use the values for the specific scheduled event, not credentials copied from another event or an old setup. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes an encoder feed. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room and update Larix. YouTube describes stream keys and event settings in Manage live stream settings.
- Add a publishing connection in Larix: Create an RTMP publishing connection and enter the YouTube URL and key. Softvelum describes the connection URL as the server/application URL combined with the stream key; its YouTube example server is
rtmp://a.rtmp.youtube.com/live2. That is an example, not a substitute for the actual URL and key supplied for your event. See Larix documentation. - Send the feed: Start publishing from Larix. In Live Control Room, wait until YouTube receives the feed and displays its preview. The Grove examples in Larix documentation use video-plus-audio mode for YouTube; do not select a video-only or audio-only configuration for that example.
- Launch the event: For the usual manual scheduled-event flow, click Go live in Live Control Room after the preview appears. YouTube also provides encoder auto-start and auto-stop settings, so the exact launch behavior depends on the event configuration. Check which setting you selected rather than assuming that starting Larix always launches the event.
- End the stream: End or stop the YouTube event using its controls, then stop Larix from sending. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; see its encoder guide.
Prepare ahead of the scheduled time
YouTube advises setting up an encoder stream at least two hours before the event and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes beforehand, then checking the preview before launch. These are YouTube’s preparation recommendations, not Larix-specific technical requirements. They give you time to catch a wrong key, connection issue, or missing preview. See YouTube live streaming tips.

Troubleshoot connection and launch problems
- YouTube does not receive the feed: Confirm Larix is using the URL and key for the scheduled event currently open in Live Control Room. Check for a typo, stale key, or key that was reset. YouTube recommends copying a new stream key from Live Control Room and updating the encoder when a third-party encoder will not start. See Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream.
- The preview appears, but the event is not live: A preview means YouTube is receiving the encoder feed; it is not the same as launching the scheduled event. Click Go live in Live Control Room unless the event is configured for encoder auto-start.
- The event starts or stops differently than expected: Review the event’s auto-start and auto-stop settings in Live Control Room. These settings can change the manual sequence; YouTube documents them in Manage live stream settings.
- You cannot enable livestreaming: Check channel verification and whether the channel has a live-streaming restriction from the preceding 90 days. If this is the channel’s first activation, allow up to 24 hours. YouTube lists these conditions in its live-streaming tips.
- The connection fails despite correct credentials: Check that Larix is set to publish video and audio, and verify the selected encoding and network. Larix documentation lists supported publishing protocols and Android encoders, but does not establish that every device, codec selection, network, or event configuration will work without testing.
Or let it run in the cloud
Larix is the phone-based encoder method. If your goal is instead to keep prerecorded video playing as a continuous YouTube livestream, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; StreamNeo loops uploaded video and playlists, supports the upload quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube and uploaded video, not a live camera feed. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
