First identify where the failure happens: Larix will not open, cannot connect to YouTube, stops after you lock the screen, or stays live but drops frames. Those symptoms point to different fixes. There is no verified, universal MIUI or HyperOS setting that fixes Larix Broadcaster on every Redmi or Xiaomi phone.
Start with the symptom
Larix Broadcaster is an Android encoder that can send a stream to YouTube Live using RTMP or RTMPS. The Google Play listing describes YouTube Live support, and YouTube’s encoder guidance lists Larix as a mobile encoder. The troubleshooting path depends on what fails:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Larix crashes or will not open: the immediate problem is app launch, not YouTube’s stream key.
- Larix opens but will not connect: check the YouTube destination, server URL, stream key and account setup.
- The stream stops when you switch apps or lock the screen: investigate whether Larix was closed or background activity was restricted.
- The stream remains connected but looks choppy or drops frames: check network stability and reduce the stream’s demands.
Before changing settings, note your exact Redmi or Xiaomi model, Android version, and MIUI or HyperOS version. Menu labels and behavior can differ by device build; the available guidance does not establish one Broadcaster-specific Xiaomi settings path that works across them.

Check the YouTube account and live-stream setup
Make sure you are signed into the intended YouTube account and that the stream you mean to start is set up in YouTube. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a Live server URL and stream key, which you enter in the encoder. Check both values carefully, including whether you copied the key for the correct channel and stream. If you regenerate a key, update Larix to use the new one.

YouTube’s published requirements for mobile live streaming through YouTube’s mobile flow include at least 50 subscribers, a verified channel, no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, live streaming enabled, and Android 8.0 or later. YouTube says first-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. These are the stated requirements for its mobile-live flow; do not assume they map identically to every encoder workflow. Check the account and stream path you are actually using.
Distinguish encoder streaming from YouTube’s Mobile Live link
Google’s developer documentation describes a separate YouTube Mobile Live intent for apps that launch YouTube’s mobile broadcast flow. Its documented requirements include Android Marshmallow (API 23) or later, a camera capable of 720p at 30 fps, a microphone, specified hardware audio and video encoders, and YouTube app version 13.02 or later. Those are requirements for that Mobile Live intent, not Larix Broadcaster’s minimum Android version. Do not use them to diagnose Larix compatibility unless your app is specifically launching that YouTube flow.

If Larix stops when the screen locks or the app goes to the background
Softvelum’s Larix FAQ says Android background streaming is available by default and that the app works in the background until it is explicitly closed. That describes Larix’s intended behavior; it does not guarantee that every Xiaomi build will keep the app running under every device setting.
- Start the stream and switch away from Larix without swiping it out of the recent-apps view. Check whether it continues.
- If the stream stops, check whether you or a cleaner, task manager, or other app explicitly closed Larix.
- Review your phone’s battery and background-activity controls for restrictions that could affect Larix. Because the exact menu and behavior vary by model and software build, use the settings labels on your phone rather than following a universal Xiaomi path.
- Test again after changing one relevant restriction at a time. This helps distinguish a background-management issue from a failed YouTube connection or unstable network.
A support response about Larix Screencaster mentions Xiaomi’s Battery saver “No restrictions” option. That is not verification that the same setting path or result applies to Larix Broadcaster on current MIUI or HyperOS devices, so treat it as a lead to check on your own build, not a guaranteed fix.

If YouTube keeps dropping frames
A connection can succeed while the video still loses frames. Larix’s FAQ notes that RTMP and RTSP may show frame loss as network conditions worsen. Check whether the upload connection is stable, then reduce the stream’s demands before changing unrelated phone settings.
- Try a more stable upload connection, if available, and compare the result.
- Lower the video resolution or bitrate in your streaming setup if the connection cannot sustain the current settings.
- If your Larix edition and current app features offer adaptive bitrate, consider enabling it for an unreliable network. Feature availability can depend on the current app edition.
- Larix’s FAQ describes SRT error recovery within its configured latency. That is a protocol-specific option, not a fix for every YouTube connection: confirm the destination supports the protocol and workflow you intend to use before switching.
Changing resolution or bitrate can improve stability but reduces the amount of video detail sent. Make one adjustment at a time and observe whether the frame loss changes.

If the app crashes or will not open
A crash before a stream begins is different from a connection failure or a stream interrupted in the background. Record the phone model, Android and MIUI/HyperOS versions, Larix version, and what action triggers the crash. Those details help you identify whether the problem is reproducible and provide useful information if you contact the app’s support team. The available sources do not establish a Redmi- or Xiaomi-wide crash fix for Larix Broadcaster.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded videos looping as a YouTube live stream rather than broadcast from your phone camera, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your phone and home connection do not have to stay on. Each slot streams your uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo plays uploaded videos; it does not broadcast a live camera feed. Start the free day on StreamNeo.
