What you can do with Larix Broadcaster for free
Larix Broadcaster is a mobile broadcasting app for iOS and Android phones and tablets. Softvelum describes the vast majority of its features as available for free. The free version covers the basic workflow of capturing video or audio on a mobile device and sending it to a streaming service.

Softvelum’s product overview lists SRT, RTMP, NDI, WebRTC, RTSP, Zixi and RIST among Larix’s supported protocols. That list describes product support, not a guarantee that every protocol or related capability is unlimited in the free tier; the subscription details mark some functions as Premium or time-limited.

The 30-minute plus 30-minute allowance is not an uninterrupted, watermark-free hour: the second segment carries a mandatory overlay. For a stream that must continue beyond that allowance, the free version is not a set-and-forget option.

Premium is separate from Larix Player and Screencaster subscriptions. Softvelum also describes Larix Tuner as a web service for managing multiple Larix app instances and enabling Premium; Tuner is a separate offering, not the same license as Broadcaster Premium.

Phone and operating-system compatibility
Softvelum’s overview gives iOS 16.0 and Android 7.0 as compatibility baselines. Individual capabilities may require newer software or suitable device hardware.
- On Android, multi-camera selection is supported on Android 10 and later.
- Simultaneous front- and rear-camera capture is supported on Android 11 and later only on devices that support concurrent cameras.
- Camera frame rates and available camera features depend on the phone’s hardware.
- The Android app page also lists external OTG USB video and audio sources; compatibility can depend on the phone and connected equipment.
Check the current Softvelum platform and subscription pages, and confirm the capability on your specific device, before relying on a particular protocol, camera mode or external input.

Is the free license enough for your stream?
- Short mobile streams: The free tier can cover a brief broadcast, provided you are prepared for its duration limit and the overlay on the additional segment.
- Long broadcasts or continuous streaming: Premium is the relevant Larix license because it removes the time limit. The free tier will stop after its stated allowance.
- Multiple destinations: Check how many simultaneous connections your planned setup needs. Three or more are listed as Premium; the exact free connection allowance is not stated on the cited subscription page.
- Specialized protocol or camera requirements: Verify both the license and your device. A protocol appearing in the general feature list does not by itself establish that it is unrestricted for free.
Premium pricing and billing notes
Softvelum’s Premium page lists basic U.S. prices of $9.99 per month or $119 per year and says the final price can vary by country and taxes. These are page-stated U.S. examples, not guaranteed checkout prices elsewhere. The page also lists NDI support at $19.99 per month in-app and describes NDI via Larix Tuner at an additional $10 per month; Tuner itself is listed from $10 per month.
