To stream live video from a Samsung Galaxy with Larix Broadcaster, create or open a YouTube stream in YouTube Studio, copy that stream’s server URL and private stream key into a Larix connection, grant camera and microphone access, then start sending video. For a scheduled broadcast, you must also click Go live in YouTube’s Live Control Room after the preview appears.
Before you start
- A Samsung Galaxy phone with Larix Broadcaster installed.
- A YouTube account that can access live streaming. YouTube’s general encoder setup does not establish whether a particular account is currently eligible, so check the account in YouTube Studio if live controls are unavailable.
- A reliable internet connection suitable for sending live video.
- The server URL and stream key for the YouTube stream you intend to use.
Larix Broadcaster is listed by YouTube as an Android mobile encoder. The exact Larix controls and Android permission labels can differ by app version, Galaxy model, and Android or One UI release; use the current values and labels shown on your devices.

Create or select a YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Open the Stream tab. For a first stream, edit the stream and select Create stream. If you have streamed before, you may be able to use an existing stream and its settings.
- Choose the stream’s visibility: Public, Private, or Unlisted. Set this before sharing the watch page. YouTube documents different default visibility settings by age group: private for creators aged 13–17 and public for creators aged 18 or older.
- Copy the server URL and stream key YouTube provides for that stream. Keep the key private: anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to your stream. Do not show it in screenshots or use a sample key from a tutorial.
YouTube’s encoder instructions say to enter the live server URL and stream key in the encoder. Use the values for the specific stream you are setting up, rather than assuming that a URL or key from an older broadcast is still appropriate. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains this workflow.
Add the YouTube connection in Larix
- Open Larix Broadcaster and create a new connection. The exact button names may vary by version.
- Enter the current YouTube server URL and stream key in Larix’s connection settings. Larix’s YouTube RTMP connection uses the server/application address together with the stream name or key; follow the current values YouTube shows for your stream rather than copying an example address. See Softvelum’s Larix documentation.
- Set the connection to send audio and video, not video alone or audio alone.
- Choose an appropriate bitrate for your available connection. Softvelum recommends checking bitrate for YouTube streaming, but there is no single bitrate established here for every Galaxy, resolution, or network. If your upload connection is inconsistent, avoid selecting a bitrate your connection cannot sustain.
- Save the connection.
Check the phone, then start streaming
- When Android prompts, allow Larix to use the camera and microphone. If permission was denied earlier, use Android’s app-permission controls to allow them; the exact Settings path and labels vary by Android and One UI version.
- In Larix, select the camera you want to use and check the preview. Confirm the microphone or audio source is active and that the connection is configured for audio plus video.
- Start sending the stream from Larix. For an immediate stream, YouTube says the encoder starting can create the watch page and make the stream live.
- For a scheduled broadcast, keep Live Control Room open. Wait for the encoder preview to appear, then select Go live there. Starting Larix sends the feed, but does not necessarily start a scheduled broadcast for viewers.
- To finish, stop sending from Larix. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived after encoder transmission ends.
Choose the right start method

Protect the stream key
Treat the stream key as a credential. Keep it out of public posts, screenshots, and recordings. If it is exposed, use YouTube Studio’s stream settings to manage the key before continuing.

Check what you are broadcasting
Use video and audio you have the right to stream. A phone-camera broadcast can still include copyrighted music playing nearby, so listen for background audio before going live. YouTube’s copyright and live-stream policies apply to broadcasts; setting a stream to private or unlisted does not grant permission to use someone else’s content.
Match the bitrate to the connection
There is no universal bitrate or resolution that is guaranteed to work on every Galaxy and network. Start with a setting your upload connection can sustain, and check the preview and stream status in Live Control Room. If the feed is unstable, lower the bitrate or resolution and test again before an important broadcast.

Troubleshoot common setup problems
