Police had arrested two suspects by October 2, 2026, after women attending a purported job event at a farmhouse in Gadap, Karachi, reported losing their phones. Dawn’s later report put the number of affected women at 59; the alleged organiser was still being sought in the latest coverage located. These remain reported allegations, not findings of guilt.
What was reported in the Karachi farmhouse phone theft
According to police accounts reported by Dawn, 59 women had been brought to Ansari Meadows Farmhouse in Gadap on the pretext of interviews for jobs connected to Bahria Town Karachi. The women said they were asked to hand over their phones, and the alleged organiser left with them. The reports do not establish that Bahria Town Karachi organised or endorsed the event.
The Express Tribune described the offer as a 25-day assignment paying Rs2,000 per day, with food and transport. Participants were reportedly told that builders and housing-society officials would conduct interviews. These were terms of the reported offer, not a verified employment contract.
Dawn’s October 2 report identified Waqas as the person who allegedly booked the farmhouse and Nargis as an event coordinator. Police identified Sahil Salman as the alleged organiser and said they were conducting raids to arrest him.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
How the reported victim count and arrest status changed
Early coverage described a different count and status. On October 1, Dawn reported that 51 women had lost phones and that no arrests had been made. Its October 2 follow-up reported 59 women and two arrests. The later count and arrest update reflect the most recent account in the cited coverage, not a live police-docket check.
| Report | Reported count | Arrest status at publication |
|---|---|---|
| Dawn, October 1, 2026 | 51 women | No arrests reported |
| Dawn, October 2, 2026 | 59 women | Two suspects reported arrested |
What the FIR and police allegations establish
The Express Tribune reported that an FIR was registered at Gadap City police station on a complaint by Khushnuma Zaib under Pakistan Penal Code sections 379, 420 and 34. These are sections cited in the reported FIR allegations; their appearance in a complaint does not establish guilt or a court finding.

Dawn named Sahil Salman as the alleged organiser. ARY News, citing investigative sources, reported that the alleged mastermind was Babar, who allegedly introduced himself as Salman, and said he remained at large. These accounts do not resolve the identity discrepancy; it should not be treated as settled without official confirmation.
