What is the JSW Combat, and when is it expected?
The Combat is the reported name for JSW Motors’ first passenger SUV under its own brand. Reports describe it as based on the Chery Group’s Jetour T2 and separate from vehicles sold through the JSW-MG joint venture. Autocar India reported on January 21, 2026 that JSW Motors planned to launch its first car before Diwali 2026, citing managing director Parth Jindal. A TOI Auto report dated September 14, 2026 described the Combat as expected around Diwali.

Those reports support a festive-season expectation, not a confirmed December 3 event. They also do not clarify what “debut” would mean: a public reveal, formal launch, first deliveries or the opening of retail sales. No official Indian price, booking date or sales availability is established by the cited reporting.
What powertrain and specifications are reported?
The Combat is expected to use a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, but the reviewed reports do not provide a final India-market specification sheet. Figures published for global Jetour T2 models should not be treated as confirmed Combat specifications.

Global Jetour T2 i-DM figures
TOI Auto describes one global T2 i-DM variant with an 18.4 kWh battery, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and two electric motors. For that variant, it reports combined output of 350 bhp and 610 Nm, plus a quoted 90 km NEDC electric range. The same report notes that other international T2 i-DM versions use a 26.7 kWh battery and have different specifications. These are variant- and market-specific figures, not confirmed Indian Combat numbers.
Jetour’s published T2 details
Jetour Global’s T2 model page lists dimensions of 4,785 × 2,006 × 1,880 mm, a 2,800 mm wheelbase, 1.5T and 2.0T engine options, a 15.6-inch central screen and off-road features. These describe the manufacturer’s global T2 model page, not finalized equipment or dimensions for the Indian-market JSW Combat.

What is known about price and production?
Autocar India attributed a target price range of Rs 15–30 lakh to JSW Motors managing director Parth Jindal. It also reported plans to begin production in August and reach 80% localization from October, alongside a Maharashtra production plan. TOI Auto described production in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. These are reported targets and plans, not confirmation that the milestones occurred or that the Combat’s final price has been set.

Before comparing the Combat with another SUV or making a purchase decision, look for confirmed Indian-market details: final price, variant and battery, electric-range test basis, charging information, seating and equipment, booking status, delivery timing and service support. The reports cited here do not establish those details.

What would confirm a December 3 debut?
A direct JSW Motors announcement would need to confirm the date, year and event type. Until then, December 3 should be treated as unverified; the available reporting points instead to an expected launch around or before Diwali 2026.
