Which display suits your use?
Choose Pixel Matrix for color and motion
The Pixel Matrix has a comparatively coarse 64 × 54-pixel grid, but it is the option JSAUX specifies for full-color RGB content and GIFs. That makes it the more natural choice for animated decoration or colorful custom imagery. Its USB-C connection supplies continuous power and carries data, so using it means accepting a cable rather than treating the faceplate as a battery-powered panel.
Choose E-Ink for a detailed static image
JSAUX lists the E-Ink panel at 640 × 480 pixels, far more pixels than the matrix display, but it is monochrome rather than full color. It is suited to static images and information panels where grayscale detail matters more than animation. Custom images are static, not GIFs, according to JSAUX.
The E-Ink option pairs Bluetooth 5.0 with a built-in 500mAh battery and USB-C charging. JSAUX claims up to 22 days of operation with one display refresh per minute—1,440 refreshes a day. That is a conditional manufacturer claim, not an independently measured battery result; actual runtime depends on use and refresh frequency.

Apps, modes and availability
JSAUX lists Dashboard, Hardware, Weather, Clock, Playtime, Countdown, Chronograph and Custom for Pixel Matrix. E-Ink mode names are less consistent across the company’s own materials: the product page lists Composite, Clock, Weather, Performance, Calendar, Game Time and Custom, while a JSAUX article and its September 22, 2026 press release describe eight modes, including Progress, Digital Frame and AI Agent Status. The page calls the app MonoInk; the article uses “JSAUX E-INK APP.” Check the current product page, app and setup instructions for the supported modes and name rather than relying on a single definitive count. As of October 3, 2026, JSAUX’s product page describes the faceplates as coming soon and lists early- and mid-October shipment batches. Its September 22, 2026 launch announcement uses “now available,” so the company’s materials are not fully aligned on status. Confirm the live listing, order status and delivery estimate before purchasing. The announcement said companion software was planned for Steam in the future; it does not establish that the software is currently available there.
