Neither Jotform nor Wufoo is the better choice for everyone. Jotform is the stronger fit when you need a broad template and integration catalogue, PDF workflows, mobile-app features, card-style forms, multiple payment gateways, or documented optional HIPAA features on eligible plans. Wufoo is a reasonable fit for conventional hosted forms with conditional rules, reports, notifications, and payment integrations—if its entry, user, and storage limits suit your workload.
Choose by checking the exact workflow, expected monthly volume, required payment processor, collaboration needs, and data-handling obligations—not by comparing feature counts alone.

Which one fits your workflow?
Choose Jotform if you need breadth or document workflows
- You want to choose from a wide range of templates and integrations.
- Your process needs PDF generation, card-style forms, or mobile-app features.
- You need to evaluate several payment gateways rather than assume a specific processor is supported.
- You are considering forms for healthcare or protected health information and need to investigate Jotform’s documented optional HIPAA features on eligible plans.
Jotform’s Starter plan includes branding, and feature and usage limits vary by plan. Confirm the current plan requirements for every feature your workflow depends on.
Choose Wufoo if conventional forms cover the job
- You need hosted forms with conditional rules, notifications, reports, or themed layouts.
- You want payment collection through a supported integration and have verified the processor and plan requirements.
- Your expected entries, users, and storage fit the limits of the plan.
Wufoo’s documentation describes these core form functions, but whether its rules and reporting are sufficient depends on the actual workflow. Test representative forms before committing to a plan.

Compare the plans against your expected usage
Compare more than the monthly price. Count the forms you need active, submissions or entries per month, collaborators, file storage, and API usage. For payment forms, include payment-submission limits and the required processor. Pricing and plan contents can change, so verify them in each vendor’s current pricing flow before subscribing.

Wufoo plan snapshot
Wufoo’s official pricing page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists the following figures. Paid-plan monthly prices shown are annual-billing equivalents; monthly billing differs.
| Plan | Listed price | Forms | Monthly entries | Fields |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | 5 | 100 | 10 |
| Starter | $16.25/month, billed annually | 10 | 1,000 | |
| Professional | $33.25/month, billed annually | Unlimited | 5,000 | |
| Advanced | $83.25/month, billed annually | 25,000 | ||
| Ultimate | $210/month, billed annually | 200,000 |
Wufoo states that paid-account entries above the monthly allowance cost $0.05 USD per entry. Its free forms deactivate after the free monthly entry limit is exceeded. Treat the cap and overage rule as part of the cost calculation, especially if your submission volume varies by season.
Jotform plan snapshot

Its comparison page lists 5 forms and 100 monthly submissions for the free plan. Limits rise by plan and cover items including forms, submissions, views, payment submissions, signed documents, storage, and upload space. Starter forms retain Jotform branding. Optional HIPAA features are limited to Gold and Enterprise. Check the current pricing flow for local prices, billing period, and exact usage caps.

What should you check before collecting payments?
Both services document payment support, but the existence of a payment integration does not establish that your chosen processor, transaction flow, or plan will work for your use case. Jotform claims 40+ gateways; Wufoo lists payment collection among paid-plan features.

- Check whether payment submissions count against a separate cap.
- Map the form, payment, and confirmation steps you need, then test the full flow before relying on it.
- Include payment-related limits and any likely overages in your cost estimate.
What if forms will collect sensitive or regulated information?
Treat data handling as a purchasing requirement, not a feature-count contest. Jotform documents optional HIPAA features on Gold and Enterprise. The Wufoo pages reviewed for this comparison do not establish HIPAA support or a business associate agreement (BAA). That does not prove what Wufoo may offer under other terms; it means the cited documentation does not establish equivalence.
Before collecting protected health information, confirm directly with the vendor whether a BAA is available, which configuration and plan are required, and whether your organization’s compliance obligations are met. A feature label alone does not determine whether a service is appropriate for your data.
How should teams compare collaboration and growth?
Wufoo’s pricing lists user limits by tier. Jotform’s pricing FAQ identifies Enterprise as its multiuser plan. If multiple people will build, administer, or review forms, confirm seat counts and role or permission controls before choosing.
For growth, estimate peak monthly submissions as well as the average. Wufoo documents paid-plan per-entry overages and deactivation of free forms after the monthly cap. Jotform documents usage alerts and storage-related response deletion behavior. Review the current terms for how each service handles limits and stored responses, then decide whether its behavior matches your retention needs.

A practical way to make the choice
- List the workflow. Write down the form types, conditional logic, notifications, reports, PDF output, integrations, payment steps, and collaborators you actually need.
- Estimate usage. Forecast active forms, typical and peak monthly submissions or entries, users, storage, and any API use.
- Verify plan fit. Check each required feature and its limit on the current plan, including payment submissions, branding, and overage rules.
- Validate sensitive-data terms. If the form will collect regulated information, confirm contractual terms, a BAA where required, and configuration requirements directly with the vendor.
- Test a representative form. Build and submit a sample that exercises the rules, notifications, reporting, integrations, or payment flow you depend on.
Jotform’s broader feature catalogue makes it the more natural candidate when you need templates, integrations, document workflows, multiple gateway options, or its documented optional HIPAA features. Wufoo can be the simpler fit when its conventional forms and core functions meet your needs and its plan limits work. The right choice is the one that satisfies your real workflow and data obligations at a predictable cost.
