If you want to compare how exposed different careers may be to automation, that linked site is the relevant alternative to explore. If you need help finding a job, preparing applications, or finding project work, services such as Jobright AI and Braintrust address those next steps—but they do not estimate automation risk.
What was Job Taken?
Product Hunt describes Job Taken as a tool for finding out how susceptible a job is to computerisation. Its listing dates to 2017 and links to Will Robots Take My Job. The listing’s age matters: it should not be treated as a description of the linked site’s current data or methods.

The linked site now presents occupation rankings, polls, charts, methodology information, and downloadable occupation data. It estimates the chance that an occupation could be replaced end-to-end by automation, including AI software, robotics, and other computer-controlled systems. Product Hunt’s Job Taken listing
What does the current automation-risk score mean?
Will Robots Take My Job says its score is a comparison signal, not a precise forecast for an individual worker. It is not a prediction that every job will disappear by a particular date. An occupation-level estimate cannot tell you whether a specific person will lose a job, when a workplace will adopt technology, or how a role may change.
#1 Best Overall
According to the site’s methodology, its current in-house model draws on O*NET occupation data, including abilities, skills, knowledge, activities, and work context. User votes provide a sense-check; the site says they do not directly determine the score. The site also distinguishes its current approach from the original Oxford Martin predictions published in 2013.
The site’s stated factors that may make work harder to replace include judgment and accountability, care and trust, creativity, and unpredictable real-world settings. These are considerations in the site’s explanation, not guarantees that a role or worker is protected from change.

| Option | Best fit | What it does—and does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Will Robots Take My Job | Comparing automation exposure across occupations | Offers occupation-level risk information and supporting material. Its score is not a personal job-loss forecast. |
| Jobright AI | Finding jobs and getting application support | Product Hunt describes job matching and resume and application support. It is not described as an occupation-risk calculator. |
| Braintrust | Finding technical project work | A talent network connecting organizations with technical talent for projects; it does not assess automation exposure. |
| Serand, Betterteem, Akkio, and PI.EXCHANGE | Employer, hiring, workforce, or data-analysis needs | These are adjacent tools listed by Product Hunt, not individual-facing answers to whether a particular occupation is susceptible to computerisation. |
Product Hunt’s Job Taken alternatives page is useful for discovering adjacent products, but the products serve different audiences and goals. A job-search service can help you act on a career concern; that does not validate an automation-risk score.

How to use an occupation score without overreading it
- Check what occupation is being assessed. Job titles can cover different tasks and settings. Compare the listed occupation with the actual responsibilities in the role you have in mind.
- Read the methodology and context. The site’s score is based on occupation data and should be interpreted as a comparison, not as a timed prediction for you.
- Use the result to explore options, not make a snap decision. Compare related careers and consider which responsibilities involve judgment, trust, care, creativity, or unpredictable settings.
- Turn concern into practical preparation. The site’s guidance includes learning to work with AI, broadening skills, building practical expertise, and monitoring industry change. These steps may help with adapting to change; they do not guarantee job security.
What the 2013 “47 per cent” figure actually says
The often-repeated figure comes from Carl Benedikt Frey and Maike Osborne’s 2013 study, which estimated computerisation probabilities for 702 detailed occupations using a Gaussian process classifier. The Oxford Martin School summary reported that about 47 per cent of total US employment was at risk according to those estimates. That is a historical estimate about US employment, not a current 2026 forecast and not the score from Will Robots Take My Job’s current in-house model. Oxford Martin School: The Future of Employment
