Jetpack 16.3 was released on October 6, 2026. It adds conditional logic to Jetpack Forms, gives VideoPress playlists new presentation controls, renames the My Jetpack “Products” tab to “Features,” adds a Zoom Scheduler block, and removes two legacy admin pieces. Most of the changes are feature and administration updates rather than fixes for a known breakage, so the decision to update depends mainly on which of those features your site uses. The headline’s claim that the release “is a winner” is an opinion. The official materials describe what changed; they do not measure how the update performs on real sites.
What changed in Jetpack 16.3 at a glance
The table below lists each major change, with the plan availability the vendor states for it. Where Jetpack’s release article does not say which plans include a change, the table says so rather than guessing.

Forms: conditional fields
The Form block in Jetpack 16.3 can now show or hide a field depending on how a visitor answered another field. Jetpack’s example is a “Which podcast?” question that appears only when a visitor answers “Podcast” to “How did you hear about us?” This is useful for keeping longer forms short: visitors see only the questions that apply to them. Because the vendor says the feature is available on every plan, including free, it is the change most likely to matter to smaller sites.
VideoPress playlists
Playlists gained presentation options that were not previously available. Owners can edit the playlist title and description, and a “Show player” setting lets a playlist display as a simple list of videos without the embedded player. The release also adds a global “Allow sharing” setting, lets you edit video details while an upload is still processing, and changes how the player loads.
#1 Best Overall
On player loading, Jetpack gives one concrete example: in a test post containing four videos, the change meant one player download instead of four. That is the vendor’s own illustration of the new behavior, not an independent benchmark. Your page speed will depend on your theme, the other media on the page, and your hosting, so treat the four-to-one figure as a description of how the loading works rather than a promise of faster pages.
My Jetpack: Products becomes Features
In My Jetpack, the “Products” tab is now “Features.” Each feature has an on/off switch in the grid, so you can turn individual pieces on or off from one place. Activity Log is now a Jetpack module that can be switched off from My Jetpack, and menu items for inactive features are hidden, which shortens the WordPress admin menu on sites that use few features.
Two legacy pieces are removed: the At a Glance dashboard and the Recommendations assistant. The WordPress.org changelog lists these removals as a major enhancement. If you or a client used either one, the change is the first thing to notice after updating, and you will need to find the same information in the remaining screens.
AI setup and the MCP page
The MCP setup page now includes ChatGPT and Codex setup instructions, alongside instructions for other agents, and a “How it works” guide. The changelog also describes changes for sites that are eligible to enable WordPress Agent. For those sites, Jetpack hides the legacy AI panel and offers to open or enable the Agent. The Scheduled tasks tab now loads only when you open it. If you do not plan to use AI agents, these changes mostly affect what you see on the page, not how your site behaves.
Zoom Scheduler and smaller changes
The Zoom Scheduler block lets visitors book a meeting directly from a post or page. You paste your Zoom Scheduler booking page URL into the block. Jetpack says the block is available on every plan, including free. The release also moves Stats settings to a Settings tab, improves keyboard and screen-reader support for tooltips and charts, and adds a “Freshly Pressed” tab to the Daily Writing Prompt widget.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Connection reliability and security
Jetpack says it fixed several cases in which a healthy site showed a connection problem, including stale notices and false failures in Site Health. Real connection errors are now grouped into one notice that names the affected account. Reconnecting now repairs only the owner’s account instead of disconnecting every user, which matters on sites with several contributors.
The release article also reports security improvements across Forms, Memberships, VideoPress, and other areas. It does not give a count of vulnerabilities fixed or a measured security outcome, so the security benefit is real only in the sense that the vendor says so, and it cannot be quantified from the release notes alone.
Is Jetpack 16.3 a winner?
Whether the release is a “winner” depends on what you need. For sites that want simpler forms, a free conditional-logic option is a clear practical gain. For sites that depend on the At a Glance dashboard or the Recommendations assistant, the removal is a cost you will have to adjust to. The vendor’s figures describe scale and example behavior: 380 pull requests from 52 contributors, and the four-video player example. They are not user outcomes, and no independent comparison of performance or stability was found. Calling the release a winner is therefore a judgment about features, not a demonstrated result.
How to update and check the changes
Jetpack’s release article gives this instruction: “Update to Jetpack 16.3 from your ‘Plugins’ page, and let us know what you think in the support forums.”
- Back up your site before updating, using your host’s backup tool or a plugin you already trust.
- In the WordPress admin, go to Dashboard > Plugins and find Jetpack. If an update is available, select Update now.
- Open Jetpack > My Jetpack and confirm that the connection status shows no errors. If a notice names an account, reconnect that account, which now repairs only the owner’s connection.
- Open the Features tab and check that the features you use still have their switches on.
- If you use forms, open a form that has or needs conditional logic and test it on the front end with both answers.
- If you use VideoPress playlists, check that the title, description, and player setting display the way you expect on a published page.
If something breaks after the update, the most direct recovery step is to restore the backup you made in step 1 and then contact Jetpack support before updating again.
Who should update now
- Sites that use Jetpack Forms and would benefit from showing fields only when they apply.
- Sites that want a Zoom Scheduler block on a free plan.
- Sites that have had false connection notices and want the consolidated notice behavior.
Sites that rely on the At a Glance dashboard or the Recommendations assistant should review the changes before updating, and should check whether their hosting or other plugins depend on Jetpack features that have changed.
