Which is better for sweat, rain and dust?
JBL states an IP68 rating for the Endurance Peak 4 earbuds, compared with IPX4 for the Powerbeats Pro 2 earbuds. That makes the JBL model the stronger on-paper choice if resistance is your deciding factor. The ratings apply to the earbuds, not automatically to their charging cases.

The distinction matters: JBL lists its case as IPX2, while Beats says the Powerbeats Pro 2 case is not sweat- or water-resistant. Keep either case protected from moisture, and do not treat an earbud rating as permission to expose the charging case to the same conditions.

How long does the battery last with noise control on?
JBL Endurance Peak 4
JBL claims up to 12 hours of playback per charge with ANC off and up to 8 hours with ANC on, with up to 48 hours total playback. The product page does not state the ANC-on total figure in the supplied specifications, so the 48-hour maximum should not be read as the runtime with ANC enabled.
Powerbeats Pro 2
Beats claims up to 45 hours total in Adaptive EQ mode: up to 10 hours from the earbuds and 35 hours from the case. With ANC and Transparency active, Beats claims up to 36 hours total: up to 8 hours from the earbuds and 28 hours from the case.

These mode-specific manufacturer figures do not establish which pair lasts longer under identical real-world use. Volume, usage and other conditions can affect playback time.
Do Powerbeats Pro 2 track heart rate during workouts?
Yes. Beats describes heart-rate monitoring as optional, says it can be disabled, and lists compatibility with select fitness apps and equipment. That makes the feature a meaningful reason to consider Powerbeats Pro 2 if you want heart-rate data from your earbuds; check that the apps or equipment you use are supported before buying.

Beats’ UK product page specifies Apple Fitness compatibility with an iPhone on iOS 26, an iPad on iPadOS 26, or an Apple TV on tvOS 26, with the Apple TV also paired with an iPhone or Apple Watch. These are specific software and pairing requirements, and compatibility may change as software versions evolve. Beats UK product page
Will either pair stay in better?
Both use ear hooks to help retain the earbuds during movement, but their materials differ. JBL describes the Endurance Peak 4’s TwistLock design and specifies a liquid-silicone hook with memory wire; Beats describes nickel-titanium alloy-reinforced hooks.

Those design details do not establish which model will fit a particular person more securely or comfortably. Ear shape and individual fit matter, and no independent comparative fit test is established here.
How do their noise-control modes compare?
JBL lists Adaptive Noise Cancelling and Ambient Aware; Beats lists ANC and Transparency mode. Both therefore offer a way to reduce outside sound and a mode intended to let more of the surroundings through. The available manufacturer specifications do not establish which cancels noise more effectively or makes voices and traffic clearer, so choose based on the modes you want rather than assuming one performs better.

Which workout earbuds should you choose?
- Choose JBL Endurance Peak 4 if the higher stated earbud resistance rating or JBL’s claimed total playback is most important to you.
- Choose Powerbeats Pro 2 if optional heart-rate monitoring is valuable and your fitness apps or devices support it.
- Try both if possible if fit and comfort are your deciding factors; their different hook constructions do not predict the best fit for everyone.
Neither manufacturer’s specifications settle comparative sound quality, call quality, comfort, or real-world workout security. Those should not be treated as proven advantages for either model without direct testing.
