Washington ruled out the quarterback on Friday, October 2, and said Marcus Mariota is expected to make his second start of the season in Daniels’ place.
Why is Jayden Daniels out against the Colts?
The Commanders identified Daniels’ injury as a left-elbow injury. He dislocated the elbow during Washington’s Week 2 game against Dallas, according to the team. The NFL’s Week 4 injury report also lists him as out with an elbow injury.

Daniels was a limited participant in all three of Washington’s practices during the week of preparation for the Colts game. The team’s Friday ruling means he will not be available for Sunday, October 4, at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Both teams entered the matchup with 1–2 records, according to the NFL’s Week 4 injury report.
