There is no single “Titanfall 2 VR mod”: CircuitLord’s installer-based campaign conversion and TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin are separate projects. CircuitLord describes isolating its installation and saves in a separate profile, but that is not an independent security audit. TinyBlkDog explicitly says its plugin is single-player only and must not be used on official servers.
Which Titanfall 2 VR mod do you mean?
Check the project name before following installation or multiplayer advice. CircuitLord distributes an installer for a campaign-focused VR conversion. TinyBlkDog distributes a separate VR plugin for the Northstar client. Their installation methods and stated multiplayer scope are different.

Is the Titanfall 2 VR mod safe to install?
No independent security audit or malware analysis is established for either project in the cited project documentation. CircuitLord describes safeguards and separation in its installer design, but those statements do not independently verify the release binary or guarantee that every user configuration is unaffected.
What CircuitLord says its installer does
The CircuitLord installer repository says the installer locates Titanfall 2 through Steam, EA, or Xbox and installs Northstar and the mod into a separate TF2VR profile. It says a normal Titanfall 2 launch remains unmodded, while VR campaign progress and settings are stored separately under %LOCALAPPDATA%RespawnTitanfall2_VR.

The repository also describes a SHA-256 manifest for installer downloads and says the installer records files it writes for updates and uninstall. These are descriptions of how the installer is designed, not independent confirmation that a downloaded binary is safe. CircuitLord says the installer source is MIT-licensed but the mods are closed source, and warns: “These mods and this installer are community projects, not affiliated with or endorsed by the game developers or publishers. Use at your own risk.”
What TinyBlkDog requires
The TinyBlkDog repository describes its v0.1.1 release as an alpha. It requires an OpenXR runtime and a PC-VR-capable GPU. The maintainer reports development and testing with a Meta Quest 3 and Play For Dream MR through Virtual Desktop’s VDXR runtime. That limited, maintainer-reported test set does not establish compatibility with every headset or runtime; other devices are described as untested, not necessarily incompatible.

Can it affect multiplayer?
TinyBlkDog: do not use it on official servers
The TinyBlkDog README states: “Do not use this on official servers.” Its explanation is that the plugin’s aim path writes a correctly checksummed user command that a server cannot distinguish from a gamepad command; the README says this is against the EULA. This is the mod author’s disclosure, not independent server testing or a legal ruling.

Treat those as the plugin author’s disclosures, not as a guarantee about how a particular server behaves.

CircuitLord: multiplayer policy is not established
CircuitLord’s installer page describes a campaign VR project, but the cited material does not establish multiplayer support or state an official-server policy for that mod. A separate profile may help keep the ordinary launch separate; it does not prove multiplayer compatibility or approval.
Northstar vanilla compatibility is not approval
Northstar’s vanilla-compatibility documentation explains that users can launch with -vanilla and disable mods marked with an exclamation mark, while cautioning that not all mods are guaranteed to work in that mode. That general feature is not evidence that either Titanfall 2 VR project is permitted or suitable for multiplayer.

How to install, if you choose to proceed
CircuitLord installer
Follow the project’s own current instructions and obtain the installer only from its repository. Its documented approach is to locate the game installation, create the separate TF2VR profile, and keep VR campaign saves and settings in the separate location described above. Do not treat profile separation or the manifest mechanism as a substitute for verifying that the download came from the project’s genuine release source.

TinyBlkDog plugin
- Install Northstar and confirm that it launches successfully before adding the VR plugin.
- Close the game.
- Copy the plugin DLL and INI files from TinyBlkDog’s release ZIP into
Titanfall2R2Northstarplugins. - Make sure an OpenXR runtime is available and the PC has a VR-capable GPU.
Northstar’s legacy manual installation page says its client is PC-only and requires owning and installing the game. It describes downloading Northstar from its releases, copying files into the game directory, and installing additional mods with their dependencies. It also warns that the default EA App game folder may not be writable by non-admin processes. That page points readers to the replacement NorthstarDocs wiki, so consult current project instructions if labels or files have changed.
Is multiplayer supported?
For TinyBlkDog’s plugin, the documented scope is single-player, with an explicit warning against official servers and a direction to seek permission from private Northstar server owners. For CircuitLord’s campaign installer, the cited project information does not establish multiplayer support or a server policy. Do not infer support for either project from the fact that Northstar has a vanilla-compatibility mode.
Is it possible to play Titanfall 2 in VR on Linux?
The cited project documentation does not establish Linux compatibility for either project. TinyBlkDog documents OpenXR and specific PC-VR testing on Quest 3 and Play For Dream MR through VDXR, but does not report Linux testing. Northstar’s cited installation guidance describes a PC client without establishing that these VR projects work on Linux. Check the chosen project’s current requirements before relying on a Linux setup.
