Which Titanfall 2 VR mod do these requirements cover?
“Titanfall 2 VR mod” can mean different projects. This guide covers CircuitLord’s installer-based campaign conversion. It is distinct from TinyBlkDog’s Northstar plugin, which uses OpenXR and has its own requirements and compatibility evidence. Do not treat testing or hardware details for one project as proof of compatibility for the other.

What you need for CircuitLord’s VR conversion
- A Windows PC: The game runs on the PC connected to your headset; it does not run on the headset by itself. The project does not publish a minimum CPU, GPU, memory specification, or frame-rate target, so there is no verified hardware threshold to use as a buying guide. The current guide states this limitation.
- Titanfall 2 installed on PC: The installer README says it can locate Steam, EA app, or Xbox installations. The EA app must also be available and signed in; if you have never launched the game, a first normal launch may install the EA app. The installer README describes the supported installation sources, and the current guide covers the EA app requirement.
- A PC-connected VR headset: The headset needs to connect to the computer. The project materials do not provide a complete model-by-model compatibility list, so no particular headset model can be called universally required or certified.
- A working VR runtime: The installer README says to use “SteamVR/your VR runtime of choice.” Start SteamVR or the runtime used by your headset before launching VR. See the installer README.
- The mod installer and Northstar: CircuitLord’s installer sets up Northstar along with the VR mod in a separate
TF2VRprofile in the game directory. You do not need to treat Northstar as a separate manual prerequisite for this installer flow. The README explains the profile setup.
How to install and launch it
- Install Titanfall 2 on PC and make sure the EA app is installed and signed in.
- Run CircuitLord’s installer and let it locate the game. It installs Northstar and the VR mod in the separate
TF2VRprofile. - Start SteamVR or the runtime associated with your headset.
- Choose the installer’s Launch in VR action. Starting the game normally from Steam launches the unmodded game, according to the installer README. Read the installer’s launch instructions.
The conversion is focused on the campaign, and the README says its VR saves and settings are separate from the ordinary campaign save. Installer README; current guide.
What is known about headset and PC compatibility?
For CircuitLord’s conversion, the established requirement is a headset connected to the PC and a usable VR runtime—not a named headset model or a particular GPU. The project materials reviewed here do not give an exhaustive headset certification list, minimum PC build, or target frame rate. As a result, a specific graphics card recommendation would be a guess rather than a published requirement.

TinyBlkDog’s separate plugin illustrates why project details should not be mixed. Its README describes a DirectX 11 renderer hook using OpenXR, says version 0.1.1 is alpha and single-player only, and lists Meta Quest 3 and Play For Dream MR through Virtual Desktop’s VDXR among its tested combinations. Expect intense movement: wall-running and grappling remain part of the game, so snap turning does not remove the motion from traversal. The current guide cites Road to VR’s Scott Hayden describing the motion as “above and beyond even a regular flatscreen shooter.” Snap turning is available, but it cannot make the underlying movement stationary.
