No. Samsung lists iOS as “Not supported” for the Galaxy Watch8 series, which includes the Galaxy Watch8 Classic. The watch is intended for Android phones, so an iPhone app or ordinary Bluetooth pairing does not make it an officially supported combination.
What phones does the Galaxy Watch8 Classic support?
Samsung’s compatibility table lists Android 12.0 or later and at least 1.5 GB of RAM for Samsung and non-Samsung phones. Samsung also cautions that certain non-Samsung phone models and tablets are unsupported, so meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee that every Android phone or every feature will work. Samsung’s Galaxy Watch8 series launch announcement identifies the watches as running Wear OS 6 and specifies Android 12.0 or later with more than 1.5 GB of memory. That is consistent with Samsung’s support guidance; neither source lists iPhone support.

Why do some pages say a Galaxy Watch works with iPhone?
Compatibility differs by model generation. Samsung US lists the original Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Watch Active, and Galaxy Watch Active2 as compatible with iPhone 5 or later running iOS 9 or later. Can an app or Bluetooth workaround make it work?
Samsung does not support pairing the Watch8 Classic with iPhone. The official compatibility guidance does not establish whether third-party apps or other workarounds can provide partial functions, so they should not be relied on for setup, continued connection, notifications, calls, health features, or apps.
What should iPhone owners do instead?
If pairing with an iPhone is essential, check the manufacturer’s current requirements for the exact watch model before buying. Confirm that the supported iOS version covers your iPhone and that both initial setup and ongoing pairing are supported. Also check which notifications, calls, health features, and apps are available. Apple provides an official Apple Watch and iPhone compatibility resource; verify model-specific requirements there before choosing a device.
