What is the Pixel 10a’s Canadian price?
Google’s February 18, 2026 announcement set the Canadian starting price at CA$679, with availability from March 5 through the Google Store and major carriers. Google’s Canadian announcement is the clearest source for the launch price.

An iTechGuides report published October 3, 2026 claimed the Canadian price had risen to CA$849. Its page could not be opened, and the Google Store listing available here does not confirm that figure. Treat CA$849 as an unverified report, not an established Canadian price. The iTechGuides report is the source of the claim.

There was also a reported US price change: Android Central reported on October 2, 2026 that the US 128 GB model rose from US$499 to US$599, and the 256 GB model to US$699. Those US prices do not establish a Canadian increase. Android Central’s report concerns the US market only.
What you get for the money
The Pixel 10a is a compact, midrange Android phone with a 6.3-inch pOLED screen, 60–120 Hz refresh rate, Tensor G4 processor, 8 GB of RAM and a choice of 128 GB or 256 GB storage. - Software support: seven years of Pixel updates, counted from the phone’s first availability on the Google Store in the US, according to Google’s Pixel update policy.
That support period is a meaningful reason to consider the phone if you plan to keep it for years. It is not, by itself, a reason to pay any asking price: the value still depends on the actual Canadian price, storage configuration and how long you expect to use it.
How big an upgrade is it from the Pixel 9a?
Not a big one. Tom’s Guide and TechRadar both describe substantial carry-over from the Pixel 9a, including the Tensor G4 and broadly similar camera hardware. Battery performance is one area where TechRadar recorded a better result: its lab test ran for 15 hours and 16 minutes, more than two hours longer than its Pixel 9a result under the same test. That is a reviewer’s test result, not a runtime guarantee for everyday use; network conditions, settings and workload affect battery life.
For a Pixel 9a owner, a specific need or an unusually strong trade-in offer would need to make up for the limited generational change. Otherwise, keeping the current phone is the more defensible choice.

Who should buy it at each price?
At CA$679: a conditional buy
Consider the Pixel 10a at its announced CA$679 starting price if you are replacing an older phone, want Google’s camera features and Android experience, and value a smooth 120 Hz-capable screen, wireless charging and long update support. Check the storage tier and final checkout price; the starting price alone does not tell you what the configuration you want will cost.

If the live Canadian checkout price is CA$849, the case for buying weakens. The figure has been reported but is not corroborated by the retrieved Google Store listing, so verify it before acting. If it is genuinely the price offered to you, waiting for a discount or comparing current alternatives is more prudent than treating the 10a as an obvious value pick.
