Not yet. As of October 8, 2026, The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is not officially supported on Apple Silicon Macs, and ZeniMax Online Studios has not announced that a native Apple Silicon client is available or given a release date. The game currently runs as an Intel application through Apple’s Rosetta translation layer. The studio says it is committed to keeping Mac players able to play after macOS 28 arrives in fall 2027, but has not specified how it will do that.
Does ESO run natively on Apple Silicon now?
No. ESO’s support article says Apple Silicon ARM-based Macs are not officially supported. In a September 17, 2026 forum post, ZeniMax Online Studios Associate Director of Community Jessica Folsom said the game currently runs as an Intel-based application using Rosetta on Apple Silicon Macs. That means some players may be able to run it through translation, but it is not a native Apple Silicon client or a supported configuration.

Folsom’s September 17, 2026 post says Apple is expected to end support for Intel-based applications when macOS 28 launches in fall 2027. She wrote: “We’re committed to making sure our Mac players can keep playing ESO once macOS 28 arrives, and we’ll have more to share about that work in the next month.”

This is a commitment to continued Mac play, not confirmation of a native port. The post does not identify the technical solution, promise a particular performance level, or give a delivery date. - Start ESO in windowed mode on an external display, enter the game world, then move the game to the primary monitor.
- Use the Display Menu app to select a fixed resolution.
If these steps do not help, ESO Support says you can log into the same account from another PC or an Intel-based Mac that meets the system requirements. The support article does not endorse a particular external monitor or guarantee that using one will resolve the issue.
What are the listed Mac requirements?
ESO’s published PC/Mac requirements list the following minimums for Mac. The same page cautions that requirements may change and points to the ARM-based Mac support article, so these listed specifications do not override the separate Apple Silicon support caveat.
